    • NORTH CREEK - Mary Ida Schafer, 89, of here, died at 4:30 p.m. Friday in St. Rita's Hospital.
      Born in Putnam County May 19, 1885, she was a daughter of the late Amos and Mary Fenstermacker Brecht. Her husband, Benjamin F., whom she married on Sept. 8, 1903, died March 2, 1942.
      Mrs. Schafer was a member of the North Creek United Methodist Church.
      Surviving are one son, Ernest of Toledo; four daughters, Mrs. Frieda Brossom and Mrs. Pauline Tischinae, both of Toledo, Mrs. Helen McMillan of Benfield, N.Y. and Mrs. Lenore Johnston of Rt. 1, Continental; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
      Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the church, Rev. Russell White officiating. Burial will be in Monroe Cemetery, Continental.
      Friends may call at the Richardson Funeral Home, Continental, after 2 p.m. today.
