He served with the New Jersey Volunteers during the War, first as an Ensign (1782) and later as a Lieutenant. He arrived in Saint John, Fall 1783, aboard the ship "Duke of Richmond", and was granted a townlot at Parrtown, in 1784. He served as a colonel in the NB militia. He eventually settled in Kings Co., where he became a magistrate. He died at the age of 86. [New Brunswick Loyalists by Sharon Debeau, 1983] [1]
