Mrs. Nancy Carper, widow of the late Christopher Carper, died at the home of her son George, near Woodbury, on Saturday afternoon. Deceased who was aged 78 years was born and spent all her life in Woodbury township. She is survived by four children, two daughters, Mrs. Jacob and Mrs. Louis Hollinger, of near Paola, Kan., and two sons, George, of near this place and John of Curryville. Of a large family of brothers and sisters, five survive her, Mrs. Fannie Stonerook, John and Jacob Smith, of this place, Mrs. Margaret Hair, of Roaring Spring and Mrs. Hannah Buck of Warriorsmark. The funeral which was held in the River Brethren church on Monday forenoon was conducted by Rev. O. E. Houston, Rev. Peter Keagy and Rev. J. B. Miller, and was attended by a large concourse of relatives and friends. Her body was laid to rest in the Keagy cemetery by the side of her husband who preceeded her to the grave last May.
