- Elinor Hopple
Elinor June Ross Hopple, 77, of Lebanon, died of natural causes Friday, May 18, 2001, in Lebanon. She was the wife of the late Warren S. Hopple.
Born July 31, 1923, in Hebron, she was the daughter of Lee and Viola Stine Ross.
After her marriage in November 1942, Elinor worked in a sewing factory while her husband served as a pilot in World War II. She was a lifelong member of the Avon Zion United Methodist Church.
Surviving are son Donald W., husband of Lynn Dickson Hopple, of Cleona; daughter Audrey, wife of Scott Yingst, of Lebanon; sisters Mae Ulrich of Palmyra and Thelma Goshert of Lebanon; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by daughter Bonita Hopple, who died in February 1965, and son Jeffery Hopple, who died in march 2000.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Christman’s Funeral Home, 226 Cumberland St., Lebanon. Viewings will be Monday from 7-9 p.m. and for an hour preceding the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Ebenezer “Greenwood” Cemetery.
