  • Notes
    • Mr. Eddy was the efficient and popular manager of the McCoy & Linn Cold Blast Charcoal Furnace, Rolling Mills and Chain Works at Milesburg. The educational privileges afforded him were meager but as a farm hand he earned enough to pay his way through Dickinson Seminary. At the age of 16 he lay aside his text books and taught school at Lamar, one term at Hublersburg and at Flemington. He also taught at Williamsport. He worked at the Washington Iron Works at Lamar finally in 1872 he accepted the position at McCoy's. For almost a quarter century he has been prominently identified with the businesses at Milesburg. He has been school director, auditor and councilman. He is a member of the Bald Eagle Lodge No 410 I.O.O.F. Like his parents he is a prominent Church worker belonging to the Methodist Episcopal Church. [2]
