Was married three times. First to Elsa Meyers in 1914, no children. He married Isabella Newcomet in 1919 and they had five children. They divorced some time after 1942. His third wife was the former Leonore Rhoda, no children.


Long Time Organist Dies At 79
John William Moyer, 79, a long time city organist, died Saturday at 7:20 p.m. in his residence at 108 Windsor St.
Born in Reading, a son of the late Frederick and Catherine (Reeser) Moyer, he played the organ at St. Mary's Episcopal Church for the past 23 years, last working in July 1971.
He was a member of St. Mary's Church; Heister Lodge 600 F&AM, and the American Guild of Organists.Surviving are his widow, Leonore (Rhoda) Moyer; a son, Robert F., Charlestown, Md., and a grandson.
Services will be held in st. Mary's Church Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., the Rev. David J. Sweet officiating. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery. Cramp Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
