Abraham and Anna Charity (Kramer) Kline, the great-grandparents of Mr. J Miller, lived to be upward of ninety years of age.
They came from New Jersey up the West Branch to Milton, and then cut their way to the end of Knob Mountain. They had five sons and one daughter, and settled two miles north of Orangeville on the left; bank of Fishing creek, where they built a frame house, which was occupied by three generations of their descendants, and is still standing.
Their younger son, Isaac, the grandfather of Mr. Miller, married Mary Willitt, whose mother's maiden name was Britton. Mr. and Mrs. Kline had seven daughters and three sons, all of whom married and lived to middle age. Lavina married Stephen H. Miller, and they became the parents of our subject. Elmira married M. C. Vance, whose grand-parents, George and Martha Vance, came from Donegal, Ireland in 1804, and settled in Bloomsburg, and later moved to the banks of Fishing creek west of Orangeville.
John Vance, their eldest son, married Effie Patterson, whose parents came from Scot-Land about 1800. George Vance erected a house that is now occupied by M. C. Vance, the third generation.

MRS. EFFIE VANCE MOYER.
Again this community was shocked when, on Saturday evening, Shortly after six o clock it was announced that Mrs. Effie Vance, wife of John L. Mover, had expired. Though in ill health for some time past, and Confined to her bed for several weeks, she seemed bright and cheerful on Saturday, and, only a little while before her death, she was conversing pleasantly with members of the family, Little dreaming that death was so near, the other members of the
household had gone out of the room, leaving one daughter, Helen, to sit with her mother. Suddenly the little girl noticed a strange expression on her mother's face, and, believing she had fainted, she called for assistance.
Restoratives were applied, and every effort made to revive her, but when her physician, Dr. Reber, arrived Mrs. Moyer was dead. Heart disease, from which she had been suffering for some time, was the chief cause. For a number of years prior to her marriage Mrs. Moyer, then Miss Effie Vance, was a popular teacher in the public schools of Bloomsburg. She was a daughter of the late Major Michael Vance, of Orange township, and was born in Orange township on the 24th day of January, 1847. She was married to John L. Moyer on the 13th day of October, 1874, and to them were born the following children: Myra (Elmira), Laura, Helen, Lewis, William, and Harold, who, with their father, survive her. Two other children died in infancy. One sister. Miss Mary Vance, of this town, is the only surviving member of Major Vance's family. Mrs. Mover was possessed of a happy disposition, and bv reason of this and her many other admirable qualities of character, she was endeared to a large circle of friends. The family have many sympathizers in their bereavement. The funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon at half past one o'clock, the services being conducted by Rev. Dr.G.H. Hemingway, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, of which the deceased was a member, assisted by Rev. Mr. Martyn, of Orangeville. The Floral offerings of loving friends were numerous and beautiful, and the large attendance betokened the high esteem in which Mrs. Moyer was held.
The remains were laid to rest in the family lot in Rosemont Cemetery.
