    Notes:

    Mrs. Geo. F. Hall
Ellen O. Hall, wife of Mr. Geo. F. Hall, whose death was recoded in these columns last week, was born September 15, 1944, in Lorain county, Ohio. In her infancy, the family moved to Michawaka, Indiana. The family name was Lamb; Ellen O. Lamb grew to womanhood in her Indiana home. With her mother and brother, she moved to Kansas in 1860. Two years after, in 1962, they moved to Plattsburg, Mo. In 1865, Miss Lamb was married to Geo. F. Hall. At that time she was living with her half brother, Mr. Ford, who had just built as a new home, the residence now used as central telephone office in Plattsburg. In that house, Mr. Hall and Miss Lamb were married. Mr. Hall was born, so we are informed, on the old Hopkins farm near the south line of this county. His mother was the first white woman in all that territory. In 1869, Mrs. Hall united with the Primitive Baptist church at Pleasant Hill, and was always ready and willing to comfort and care for others - more so than for herself. She was the mother of nine children, five of whom are now living. The husband also survives here. The children's names are: Flora E., wife of L.C. Walker, Clay county; Chas. O., Miss Ollie, and Geo. R., all of Clinton county; and Ella, wife of Jesse D. Brown, Richmond, Ray county, Mo.
Mrs. Hall departed this life Wednesday, August 18, 1909. At the funeral service the sermon was preached by Elder W.T. Brown, pastor of her church, at ten a.m., after which her body was laid away in the old church yard, in the presence of a large crowd of friends and neighbors. Decease was a lady of generous and high character, a mother of noble, wise and lovely traits, a wife who leaves behind memories of gentleness and faithfulness.
Plattsburg Leader, Plattsburg, Missouri. Friday, 27 August 1909.
