    Two Joliet residents were killed in a three-vehicle collision at 12;15 p.m. Tuesday at U.S. 36 and Illinois 130, east of Tuscola.
    Winnifred Riggen, 76, and Mary M. Riggen, 73, of Joliet died after they were taken to Jarman Hospital in Tuscola, according to Illinois State Police reports.
    The drivers of the other two vehicles were not injured. They are Stanley G. Borders, 28, of 1745 Melrose Court and Timothy J. Smith, 20, of Camargo.

    Monon Farmer Passes Away
    Jesse Kuns Funeral Rites on Tuesday Afternoon
    Jesse P. Kuns, 80, retired farmer on Monon died Saturday. Native of Montgomery county, Ohio, he married Mary Schoonover, Aug. 23, 1899 who survives with three daughters, Mrs. Ebery Hawn, Hammond; Mrs. Winifred Riggen, Joliet, Ill., and Mrs. Ross Watson, Monon; two sons, Jesse Jr., Los Angeles, Cal., and Capt. George G. Kuns, Camp Grant, Ill. A sister, Mrs. Agnes Nusbaum, Chattanooga, Tenn., also survives.
    The funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Monon Baptist church. Querry funeral home, Medaryville, in charge.

    Ages Woman Dies of Paralytic Stroke
    Mrs. Sarah Caroline Schoonover, mother of William Schoonover, of Chalmers, passed away at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Grace Annis, northwest of Headlee, Monday noon at 11:30 o'clock.
    Mrs. Schoonover was born March 15, 1955, in Jasper County, the daughter of Joseph and Emaline Pearson. The husband, Ancil B. Schoonover, preceded her in death serval years ago. Mrs. Schoonover had been in poor health for several months, but last week suffered a paralytic stroke from which she never regained consciousness. She leaves the following children: Mary Kuns, of Monon; Wm. Schoonover, of Chalmers; George, of Exire, Iowa; Jess, of Des Moines, Iowa; Ross and Fred, of Guthrie Center, Iowa; Charles, of Gary; and Mrs. Grace Annis, of Star City, with whom she made her home.
    The body was brought to the Prevo and Son Funeral Home and prepared for burial, and will be returned to the Annis home Wednesday evening. Short services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock at the home of the daughter and the body will be taken to the Methodist church in Medaryville where services will be held at 2:00 o'clock. The body will be brought back to Monon and interment will be in the Monon cemetery.
