    Red Lodge, Mont. – Services for Rosalyn Eileen Hedges, 67, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Lander by Pastor Mike Parr.
    Mrs. Hedges died Sept. 12, 1992, in Red Lodge. She was born May 23, 1925, to Sherman T. and Ella Babe (Tracy) Gustin in Arapaho, Wyo.
    On Sept. 5, 1941, she married Mervin J. Hedges. He died in 1974.
    Mrs. Hedges had worked as a cook at the Bishop Randal Hospital and Westward Heights Nursing Home. The couple also owned and operated the Texaco service station for 25 years.
    In addition to her mother of Lander, survivors include a daughter, Kathleen Daniels of Lander and Billings, Mont.; two sons, Gary Hedges of Afton and Jim Hedges of Lander; a brother, Orville L. Gustin of Nev.; three sister, Shirley Fraser, of Nevada, Peggy Gustin of Lander and Ada McDonell of Fort Washakie; and six grandchildren.
    Friends may call at the Hoopes-Henry Funeral Home on Tuesday until 9 p.m., and at the church on Wednesday from 0 a.m. until time of the services.
    Burial will be at the Mount Hope Cemetery.

    Sherman T. Gustin
    Lander – Services for Wyoming pioneer Sherman T. Gustin, 81, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church. The Rev. David Donkle will officiate.
    Gustin died Thursday at his home following a lengthy illness.
    He was born Oct. 4, 1898 at the old gold mining town of Lewiston, Wyo. near South pass to pioneer parents Edward and Phoebe (Abra) Gustin.
    On April 2, 1922, he married the former Ella (Babe) Tracy at Lander. Gustin had lived all his life in Fremont County. He ranched for many years on deeded homestead land on the Wind River Indian Reservation, retiring from ranched in 1965. Since that time he has been a part owner of the Hiway Liquor Store just outside of Lander city limits.
    He served 12 years on the Mill Creek School Board and worked for consolidation of county and reservation schools. He and his children started the first 4-H Club in Fremont County and he was instrumental in organizing the Mill Creek Grange and Farm Union. Gustin was appointed by President John F. Kennedy to the Soil Conservation Service and continued to serve in that capacity under President Lyndon Johnson. He had made many trips to Washington while serving soil conservation.
    He was a member of the Cattlemen’s Assn. and the Lander Elks Club.
    Besides his wife of Lander, he is survived by four daughters, Shirley Fraser, Reno, Nev.; Mrs. Ada McDonell, Ft. Washakie; Rosalyn Hedges and Petty Gustin, both of Lander; one son Orville (Bud) Gustin, Cody; two brothers, Vernon and Max Gustin, both of Lander, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
    Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery with the Hudson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Memorials to the Lander Branch of Fremont County Museum will be appreciated by the family.

    Lander – Services for Ella Babe Gustin, 92, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church by Father Harold Luxon. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Lander.
    Mrs. Gustin died march 1, 1993, at the Lander Valley medical Center. She was born April 30, 1902, in Arminto to Dan and Clara (Hayes) Tracy. The family traveled around Wyoming by wagon, horseback and on foot while her father explored for gold.
    Her father and older brother, Jack, died in an influenza epidemic during World War I, and she was sent to live with an aunt in Livingston, Mont. After two years, she returned to Hudson and married Sherman Gustin on April 2, 1921.
    The couple spent most of their lives on the Ethete Ranch. Mrs. Gustin was called “Granny” by people from the Lander area and was known for her veterinarian skills. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and spent her last years in business with her daughter, Peggy, outside of Lander. She was preceded in death by her husband who died July 3, 1980, and a daughter, Rosalyn Hedges.
    Survivors include three daughters, Shirley Fraser of Fernley, Nev., Peggy Gustin of Lander and Ada McDonell of Fort Washakie; one son, Orville Gustin of Ainsworth, Neb.; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
    Friends may call at the Hoopes Funeral Home in Lander on Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Thursday morning until noon.
