    Enlisted as Private in Company I, 44th MO Infantry. John's older brother Anthony was Captain of Company I.

    John was a son of Daniel and Nancy (Wertz) Muck. He married Clarinda Burress, August 21, 1864, in Sullivan Co., MO. Their daughter Melissa (or Melvina) was born in 1865.

    John Muck is listed in the U.S. Veterans Gravesites, ca.1775-2006, as a Private in the U.S. Army, died Nov. 4, 1864, buried in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, Section 26 Site 5956.

    Notes:

    Clarinda B. Creason was born in Davies County, Indiana, May 14, 1847, and departed this life, March 7, 1933. She was united in marriage to G.W. Creason on March 22, 1867. Her husband preceded her in death, passing away July 27, 1918. She was the mother of eight children, three of whom preceded her in death, as follows: William, December 20, 1912; Leroy, November 19, 1918; Mrs. Bertha Wheeler, February 6, 1925. She leaves to mourn her loss, five children, as follows: Joe Creason, of Purdin, Mo., Mrs. M. Cabele, Of Hot Springs, S.D., Mrs. Mary A. Brook, of Spavinan, Okla., W.M. Creason and L.J. Houser, of the home; 22 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
    She united with the Presbyterian church 40 years ago.
