    Mrs. Katharine Stauffer, of Walkersville, died Saturday, March 10, 1984 at the Homewood Retirement Center, Frederick Maryland. She was born April 20, 1894 in Walkersville to the late David and Minnie Hedges Cramer. Mrs. Stauffer was the widow of Robert Ward Stauffer, who died April 13, 1975. Katharine's son, John David Stauffer, died July 10, 1996 and her daughter, Nancy Stauffer Anderson, died January 8, 2015. Her youngest grandson, Chris D. Stauffer died August 28, 2002. Katharine is survived by two grand-daughters, 1 grandson and several great-grandchildren. Interment was in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick, Maryland.

    Mrs. Minnie H. Cramer
    Mrs. Minnie Hedges Cramer, widow of David Cramer, and well-known resident of Walkersville, died on Wednesday afternoon at 3:45 o’clock at the Frederick City Hospital, aged 84 years, 5 months and 9 days. She had been ill for three weeks.
    The last of her immediate family, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Catherine Devilbiss Hedges. She was a member of the Glade Reformed church, Walkersville, and was active in church affairs. She was a member of the Board of Managers of the Frederick City Hospital for about 30 years.
    Surviving are two daughters and a son: Miss Nina C. Cramer and Silas H. Cramer, at home and Mrs. R. Ward Stauffer, Walkersville; and two grandchildren, John David and Nancy E. Stauffer, Walkersville.
    The body will be at the later residence after 7 o’clock this evening. Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning at 11 o’clock at the residence. Interment will be in the Mount Olivet cemetery, G.C. Barton, funeral director.

    John David Cramer, a well-known citizen of Walkersville, this county, died at his home at 8 o’clock this morning of general debility, aged 72 years. The deceased leaves a widow, one daughter, Mrs. Ezra L. Cramer, and two sons, Messrs. David and William C. Cramer, of Walkersville. The funeral will take place from the Glade church on Wednesday morning next at 9 o’clock.

    Daniel Hedges, son of Enos and Catharine (Kemp) Hedges, was born on his father's farm in Frederick District. He was identified with rural life all his days. He died at the age of forty years and his children inherited his share of his father's estate. He used his right of franchise to further the interests of the Republican Party. Mr. Hedges was married to Catharine Devilbiss, daughter of Daniel and Lucretia Devilbiss. She died at Walkersville in 1896. Mr. and Mrs. Hedges are buried at Glad Cemetery, and they were affiliated with the Reformation Church.
