    Graves S. Brendel.
    Graves S. Brendel, a retired telegraph operator of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, died at 3 o’clock yesterday afternoon at Maryland General Hospital of heart trouble.
    Mr. Brendel lived at 508 North Carrollton avenue. He was born September 19, 1847, at Middletown, Md., and had been living in Baltimore 26 years. Mr. Brendel had been in the service of the Baltimore and Ohio railroad 48 years and started as a messenger boy in Frederick City.
    He learned to operate when quite young and had some thrilling experience during the Civil War. He is survived by a widow, who was before her married Miss Catherine E. Derr, of Baltimore, and one son, Reginald L. Brendel. He also leaves a brother, Charles Brendel, of Grafton, W.Va., and two sisters, Miss Mary Brendel and Mrs. Anna A. Gray, of Hagerstown.

    Mrs. MARY A. BRENDEL, widow of Henry G. Brendel, died at 6:40 o'clock Sunday morning at her home, 111 South Potomac Street, of general debility, aged 87 years, 9 months and 16 days.

    She had been bedfast for three weeks. She was born in Middletown, Frederick County, and was a Miss Feete.

    She was a sister of the late Rev. Daniel Feete.

    Mrs. Brendel moved to Hagerstown with her husband and family in 1871. She was a member of Zion Reformed Church, having joined the Reformed Church at Middletown in early youth.

    She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Peter Gray, this city; Frank A., Washington, DC; Chas. H., Grafton, WV; Graves S., Baltimore; and Miss Mary E., at home.

    Funeral Tuesday afternoon with services at the house; interment in Rose Hill Cemetery.
