  1. 1.  Morris Vane Kingsolver was born on 23 Feb 1934 in Linn County, Missouri; died on 26 Mar 2014 in North Kansas City, Clay County, Missouri; was buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Linneus, Linn County, Missouri.

    Notes:

    Morris Kingsolver passed away March 26, 2014 at North Kansas City Hospital of complications of diabetes. He was the son of Mary Aileen Crookshanks and John Vane Kingsolver.

    Preceding him in death were his parents, an infant brother, Charles, an infant sister, Mary, and his son, Dennis Kingsolver, who was killed in 2005 in a work-related accident.


    Morris Vane Kingsolver, 80, of Gladstone passed away at North Care Hospice on March 26, 2014.

    Morris was born February 23, 1934 near Linneus, MO to John Vane and Mary Aileen (Crookshanks) Kingsolver. He married Shirley Jenkins on January 25, 1955 in Brookfield, MO. Born to this union were three children, Diana, Delora and Dennis.

    Services will be Saturday March 29, 2014 at McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 NE Vivion Road, Kansas City at 10:00 AM. Visitation will take place at the same location on Friday March 28 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, 20263 Highway 5, Linneus, MO on Saturday March 29 at 2:00 PM.

    After graduating from Linneus High School in 1952, Morris worked on the family farm, then served in the US Army from 1956 to 1958, stationed in France. Upon his return, he was employed by the Linn County Abstract Company. In 1961, the family moved to Kansas City where he worked for Kansas City Title and Chicago Title Insurance Company for 35 years.

    Morris was preceded in death by his son, Dennis. Survivors include his wife, Shirley, of the home, daughters Diana (Danny) Leahy and Delora Kingsolver, daughter-in-law Amy Kingsolver, and seven grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Carolyn McIntyre and brother James (Sandra) Kingsolver, Connie Garone, who was considered an adopted daughter and close family friend, and many nieces, nephews and extended relatives.

    Memorial contributions are suggested to Elmwood Cemetery. Arr. McGilley Antioch Chapel.
