    William Michael "Mike" Carpenter age 65 of Snellville, GA, passed away Friday, December 2, 2016. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Jo Ann and Velasco Carpenter. Mike is survived by his wife, Catrina Carpenter; daughter, Christina Carpenter; and sister, Barbara Goode of Bridgeport, WV.

    Mike was a native of Charleston, WV, but lived most of his life in Georgia. Mike attended United Electronics Institute and worked as a computer specialist for many companies and later owning his own computer business.

    The Memorial Service to honor and celebrate the life of Mike's life will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at The Country Club of Gwinnett, 3254 Clubside View Court, SW, Snellville, GA, 30039, from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM.

    Velasco Carpenter, Jr., 82 of Marmet died Wednesday September 19, 2012 at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston after a long illness.

    He was a former Chief of the Marmet Fire Department and was a retired Manager of Baker Apartments in Kanawha City. He was a Member of Reynolds Memorial United Methodist Church, Marmet.

    He was preceded in death by First Wife: Jo Ann Reed Carpenter in 1985,
    Parents: Velasco and Frances Elizabeth Keffer Carpenter,
    Granddaughter: Tracy Goode,
    Step-Grandson: Dustin Garrison and
    Several Brothers and Sisters.

    Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday September 22, 2012 at Leonard Johnson Funeral Home 8706 California Ave. Marmet, WV 25315 with Rev. David Biondi officiating. Burial will follow in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow. Friends may call 2 hours prior to the service at the Funeral Home.

    W.H. Reed Dies; Rites Wednesday
    Richwood (RNS) – William H. Reed, 88, of Richwood died Monday at his home.
    He was a retired carpenter and a member of the Past 80 Club in Richwood.
    Survivors include his wife, Bessie Reed; four daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Jordan of Charleston, Mrs. Mary Lois Walton and Mrs. Jo Ann Carpenter, both of Marmet, and Mrs. Ruth Creech of Lawrenceburg, Ind.; three sons, William H. Jr., of Orlando, Fla., Robert M. of Richwood, and James K. Reed of Fort Campbell, Ky.; and 15 grandchildren.
    The funeral will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Simons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Allen McKinney in charge. Burial will be in Mountain View Memorial Park at Richwood.
    The body will remain at the funeral home.
