    Notes:

Jeffers - Mrs. Josie Cain Jeffers, wife of City Marshall B.B. Jeffers, died Monday morning about 7 o'clock, after a lingering illness. The deceased had been the victim for a long time of asthma, which finally ran into consumption, resulting in her death. She had been a great sufferer and death came as a welcome visitor, bringing sweet relief from pain.
The deceased was a most excellent Christian lady of amiable disposition and greatly endeared herself to a large circle of friends and relatives, who will sadly miss her gentle presence. But upon him, whose light and guide through life she was - the devoted husband - her loss falls with crushing force, and to him the hearts of a host of friends go out in sympathy. Having only a few short weeks ago stood by the open grave of a loving and devoted mother, and now being called upon to lay be her side the one of all others who made life worth living to him, has filled his cup of sorrow to the brim so fast do misfortunes follow.
She leaves one child, a bright little boy, any aged mother, several sisters and a brother, who mingle their tears over her new made grave.
