His is survived by his wife, Margaret; son, Steven & wife Lorraine Evans; daughter, Diane & husband John Sima; granddaughters, Nicole & Lauren Sima; daughter-in-law Adrian Cobb; grandsons Mickey Jr. & Christopher Cobb, all of San Pedro. He was a Merchant Marine Veteran of WWII, Master Mason Lomita Lodge #644 & joined the Longshoreman’s Union in 1951. In 1963 he became a member of the I.L.W.U. Local #94. Visitation will be Wednesday, 2-9pm at Green Hills Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow Green Hills Memorial Park.     Born July 30, 1908 in Texas, passed away October 5, 1989 in San Pedro. He had bee a 65 year resident of Wilmington. Mr. Cobb was a member of the US Navy Seebees during World War II and a retired Longshoreman with Local #13. He was last employed as a superintendent for Metropolitan Stevedore. He is survived by his son, James (Margaret ) Cobb Jr. of san Pedro; grandchildren, Steven (Lorraine) Evans, Diane (John) Sima of San Pedro; daughter in law, Adrian Cobb of San Pedro; great-grandchildren, Mickey Cobb and Mickey and Christopher Cobb and Nicole and Lauren Sima. Services will be Monday 1pm in the Green Hills Chapel. Interment to follow in Green Hills Memorial Park. Friends may call at the mortuary starting Saturday, 12 noon. Green Hills Mortuary 831-0311

Brock, U.S. Army; three sisters, Hattie Smith, Perlie Jaggers and Bessie Russell, all of Wilmington; two brother, Billy Alkire of Wilmington, and Kenneth Alkire of Everett, Wash.
    With Cartwright Mortuary, 702 Broad avenue, in charge, funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at two o’clock at the Assembly f God Church, 1031 Fries avenue. Rev. Paul Boyer will officiate at the rite to be followed by burial in Roosevelt Memorial Cemetery.

    Elijah A. Alkire, 1050 Broad avenue, died last night in a long Beach hospital. He was 87 years of age.
    He is survived by three daughters: Mmes. George M. Smith, Pearl Jaeggers and Frank Russell; two sons, William A. and Kenneth M. Alkire, of Everett, Wash.; 20 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
    With Cartwright Mortuary, 702 Board avenue, in charge, funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Assembly of God Church. Burial will be in Inglewood Park Cemetery.

    Rosa Maria Alkire
    Mrs. Rosa Maria Alkire, 73, passed away yesterday morning at her home, 1035 Fried avenue. A resident of this city for eight years, she was a member of the Full Gospel Assembly.
    Survivors are her husband, Elijah; four daughters, Mesdames Hattie Smith, Nellie Broch, Pearl Jaeggers, Bessie Russell, all of Wilmington; two sons, Kenneth of Wilmington and William of Everett, Washington; a brother, J.R. Hedges of Vici, Oklahoma; twenty grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
    All of the family was united last September 19 when Mr. and Mrs. Alkire celebrated their fifty-sixth wedding anniversary.
    Funeral services will be announced later by Woods’ Mortuary.
