    Kash Kissick Sr.
    Kash Kissick Sr., 83, Greensboro, died Jan. 21 in his home.
    The son of Ezra and Blanche Moody Kissick, he was born in Rowan , Ky., Sept. 19, 1896.
    He was a veteran of World War I, serving in the U.S. Army. After his military service, he moved to Henry County and had lived most of his life in the New Castle and Spiceland areas. He had been an employee of Maxwell Auto Co., later Chrysler Corporation for 26 years. He then took up farming where Raintree Heights is now located until retirement in 1962. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.
    He and his wife Della Wolf, were married in New Castle Dec. 31, 1923, and she survives.
    Other survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Howard (Helen) Kidd of Indianapolis, Mrs. Elmer (Phyllis) Wilson of Pendleton and Mrs. James (Marguerite) Bertram of New Castle; three sons, Kash Jr., and David of Kennard, and Leroy of New Castle, 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. John (Cory) Selvy and Mrs. Pearl Collier, both of New Castle and Mrs. Bessie Hill of Moberly, Mo.; a brother, Arthur of New Castle and many nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services were held Thursday in Macer Funeral Home at New Castle with the Rev. David Mitchell presiding. Burial was in Glen Cove Cemetery, Knightstown.

    Iola Della Kissick, 96, of Greensboro died Jan. 19, 2002, at The American Living Center.
    Survivors include her son LeRoy Kissick of New Castle; daughters Helen I. Sullivan of Greenfield, Phyllis Wilson of Madison and Marguerite Bertram of New Castle; sister, Eleanor Forbes of New Castle; 22 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milford Kash Kissick St.; sons Milford Kash Kissick Jr. and David Lamar Kissick; two brothers; five sisters; and four grandchildren.
    Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Macer-Hall Funeral Home in New Castle with the Rev. Gene Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home where the Order of Eastern Star will conduct a memorial service at 7:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, her second husband, Lewis S. Hill is listed as father, widower in the household of his youngest son Walter Hill, in Chariton, Randolph County, Missouri.


    Mrs. Mary Kissick Hill
    New Castle – Mrs. Mary B. Kissick Hill, 83 years old, died Tuesday following a brief illness. A native of Farmers Ky., she had resided in New Castle for 36 years.
    Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. John Selvy, Mrs. Emma Akers, Mrs. Marshall Collier, all of New Castle, and Mrs. Waymon Hill of Jacksonville, Mo.; four sons, Stanly and Cash Kissick of New Castle, Arthur Kissick of Hillsboro and Simon Kissick of Richmond, and 32 grandchildren.
    Funeral services for Mrs. Hill were held Friday at 2:30 p.m. in the Pentecostal church with Rev. Kelley and Rev. Bibbs officiating. Burial was in the South Mound cemetery.

    Mechanicsburg, O., Aug. 20. – Typhoid fever is raging in epidemic form at Plumwood, nine miles east of here. About 20 cases are reported.

    Peculiar – When there was so much typhoid fever in town last year it was remarked as a strange fact that all of the cases were those of residents of the south side of the thoroughfares Main, Sudduth and High streets. This year all of the numerous cases are situated on the north side of the same streets.
