    Earl Lee Boyce, 30, died at the home of his mother, Mrs. Ida Boyce, 219 Vine street, West Lafayette, early yesterday morning. Born in Iroquois county, Illinois, July 22, 1907, he came to Indiana in 1923, marrying Dolores Flynn, of Boswell, Feb. 22, 1933.
    He was a member of the First Christian church of this city, and of the Masonic lodge, having held several offices in the Tippecanoe lodge 492, F. and A.M.; Lafayette chapter 3, R.A.M.; Tippecanoe council 68, R. and S.M.; and Lafayette Commandery 3, Knight’s Templar. He was employed by the Eisner Grocery Co.
    Surviving, besides the wife and mother, are the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. B.W. Weidner, Lapel; Mrs. H.E. Bohlander, Ft. Wayne, and Mrs. W.S. Gregory, Eldorado, Ill.; Ray Boyce, Elkhart; Elmer, of Cissna Park, Ill.; Walter, of Peoria, Ill; and Cecil, at home.
    The body was to be taken from the Rogers & Smith funeral home to the residence of his mother, where friends may call. Funeral services will be conducted from the First Christian church at 2:30 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, with the Rev. Mr. Jessup officiating. Burial will be in Grand View cemetery.

    John Boyce Dies At Hospital Here
    John Boyce, 64, a farmer on the William V. Stuart farm on Lafayette Rural Route 8, near Shadeland, died Saturday morning at 10:58 o’clock at the Home hospital where he had been a patient since Wednesday. He had been ill for a week. Mr. Boyce was born in Champaign county ILL., September 24, 1866, and his entire life had been spent in farming. The family have lived in the Shadeland community for four years.
    In 1887 he was united to marriage to Ida May Clifton, who survives with nine children, Elmer Boyce of Clana Park, Ill.; Clyde Boyce of Rankin, Ill.; Mrs. Effie Wiedner, of Lapel; Mrs. Bessie Bolander, of Chicago; Mrs. Edith Gregory of Grand Rapids, Mich.; Walter Boyce and Ray Boyce of Lafayette, and Cecil Boyce and earl Boyce, at home. Three brothers, Charles Boyce of Battle Ground; George Boyce of Missouri, and Andrew Boyce of Lafayette, also survive. The body was taken to the Rogers and Smith funeral home and will be taken to the family residence near Shadeland Monday morning. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock from the home with the Rev. J. Newton Jessup, of the First Christian church, officiating. Burial in Grand View cemetery.

    Ida May Boyce, 74, mother of Mrs. Effie Widner of Delphi, died Wednesday night at the Porter Nursing Home on East Monroe street in Delphi, following an illness of seven weeks.
    Born September 24, 1872, in Illinois, she had resided there most Of her lifetime. She was a member of the Christian church.
    Surviving with the daughter, Mrs. Widner, are the following children: Mrs. Bessie Bohlander of Indianapolis; Mrs. Edith Gregory of Oakland^ California; Elmer Boyce of Cissna Park, Illinois;’ Ray Boyce of Elkhart; Walter Boyce of Monitor, Indiana, and Cecil Boyce of Lafayette.
    Funeral services were conducted Saturday morning from the Patrick Mortuary (formerly Blythes) in Delphi with the Rev. Merlin Schwein officiating. Burial was in Grandview cemetery, West Lafayette.

    The late Mrs. H.J. Clifton died at her home April 27th, 1904. She was born Nov. 7th, 1836, and was united in marriage in 1856 to A.J. Clifton. To that union was born ten children, six of whom are left to mourn her loss – two sons and four daughters; also three brothers and twenty-seven grand children. She was a faithful, loving mother and companion. Her husband died nine years ago, but she bore her loss with Christian fortitude, never murmuring not complaining. She joined the Baptists in Dewitt soon after marriage. Some fifteen years ago she, with her husband, united with the Baptist church at Penfield, and she lived a faithful Christian life until death removed her. Funeral services were held at the late home on Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock, the Rev. G.W. Dodson, of Henning, officiating. The interment took place in Loda cemetery.

    Last Saturday, John B. Alsip, a respected farmer, aged 69 years, who lives near Leverett, in Somer, fell on the ice while watering his horses and dislocated his neck, from the effects of which he died almost instantly. Mr. Alsip was buried in Mt. Hope Cemetery on Monday, a large number of his neighbors testifying their respect by following his remains to the grave.

    Champaign, Ill., December 20. – John R. Alsip, an old and respected farmer, met with a sad death Saturday evening. He returned from selling his grain to a dealer in this city, and walked with three neighbors from the depot home. He left them at his gate, handed some packages to his wife, pumped a pail of water for his horses, and started from the platform with it, slipped on the icy ground and fell, breaking his neck. His wife’s screams called the neighbors back, but he died as they carried him into the house. He leaves a grown-up family.

Mrs. Alsip has made her home with Mrs. Pattengale the past nine years. She has been much worse the last ten days.
