Mr. Henry B. Mattingly died at the residence of his brother-in-law, Henry Burch, at West Louisville, yesterday morning at 7 o'clock, of typhoid fever. He was ill less than three weeks. He was about 30 years old. He was a very popular young man, and the death of no one in that community would have caused more universal sorrow.

Wallace was first married to Opal who died in 1930. They lived in Iowa and had a son, Wallace E. Helms Jr.

His obituary gives his mother's name as Beulah, who according to Find a Grave is his father's second wife Beulah Swihart.

It appears from Find a Grave that Merlin Jacobs married twice. Merlin and Juanita Thornburg married in 1936 and divorced before 1946. Merlin married Eunice Elma Estep in 1946. Eunice was the widow of Merlin's half-brother, Robert Louis Jacobs (1925-1945).

From news articles, when Robert died in March 1945, he and Eunice were in the midst of divorcing.

The Rev. T.W. Hendrix of the Christian Church in Redding will officiate. Burial will be at Lawncrest Memorial Park in Redding. Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. today.
Mrs. Black died Friday at memorial Hospital in Redding.
Born April 14, 1905, in Joplin, Mo., Mrs. Black moved to Shasta County in 1954 from Chico. She was a homemaker and a member of the Christian Church in Redding.
She is survived by husband George; daughter Joan Hall of Othello, Wash.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Redding Christian Church Building Fund.

He retired as the caretaker of Glendale Church of God in Indianapolis.
He was a member of Oaks Road Church of God in Paducah.
Surviving are a daughter, Marvelyn S. Norton of Chantilly, Va.; a son, Larry L. of Symsonia; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. His wife, Audrey Belle (Elkins), died in 1981.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. EST Wednesday in Walnut Hills Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Harris Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his church.

A Danville man arrested for a murder in Indiana. Joseph Miller, age 23 years, son of Stacy Miller, a saloonkeeper in Danville, Ill., was arrested yesterday by the Sheriff of Fountain County, Indiana, charged with murder in the first degree. Sept. 21 last Joseph Harter, aged 50, was shot and killed in a saloon row at Covington, the county seat of Fountain Country. That night Oliver Fitt of Danville, Ill., was arrested for the crime and has since been in jail. Testimony has just been produced before the grand jury directly charging Miller with the shooting. The trial is set for the third Monday in November.
