Frankfort, Ky., May 19 (Special) – Funeral services for Mrs. Roberta Hulette Hockensmith, wife of Austin Hockensmith, who died Thursday at the King’s Daughters’ Hospital after a brief illness, will be held at 2:30 o’clock Saturday afternoon at the First Christian church with the Rev. A.C. Brooks officiating. Interment will be in the Frankfort cemetery.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Hockensmith is survived by an infant daughter, Linda Austin Hockensmith; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Hulette, and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. S.A. Hulette and John D. Evans, all of Frankfort.

8603 Mrs. Ballard, Pioneer Citizen Died Sunday.
Funeral services for Mrs. Frankie Lee Ballard, 90, mother of Mrs. Vivian Sylvester, chief operator of the Southwest Bell Telephone company office here, was given last rites at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Osterhout fyneral home chapel. The Rev. Roy Hearon of the Free Will Baptist church conducted the service.
Burial was at 3 p.m. in Highland cemetery in Durant. Osterhout funeral home had charge of arrangements.
Pall bearers were Loyal Andrews, Joe Smith, Oscar Hendrickson, Ed Whisler, Ted Weller and Raymond Todd.
Mrs. Hayden Gibson was in charge of musical selections.
Mrs. Ballard died at her home located at 121 East Drumright street about 10:35 a.m. Sunday, January 26. She had been in failing health the past year.
Born in Kansas City, Mo., on April ____ she came to Drumright approximately 42 years ago. Her husband, Isaac Ballard, was a barber here. He preceded her in death on January 12, 1947. Three children also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Ballard was a member of the First Baptist church in Durant.
Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Vivian Sylvester, with who she made her home; two sons, John Carey of Odessa, Texas; and Leslie Harrison of Durant; one grand-daughter who she reared, Geneva Bryant of Tulsa; two other grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Also two sisters, Mrs. Nell Reck of Smithville, Tex., and Mrs. Marjorie Webster of Topeka, Kan.

8604 MRS. BARNWELL WIDELY KNOWN RESIDENT, DIES
Highly Respected Woman Passes Away At Home---Funeral Tuesday.

Mrs. Ellen Barnwell, resident of this city for the past 42 years, died at her home, 811 South Vermillion street, at 10:50 o'clock, Saturday evening. Suffering from heart trouble for many years, Mrs. Barnwell had apparently been in good health until a few days before her death when her condition became serous. Her husband and children were at her bedside when she passed away.

In this city where she had spent her life, she was widely known for her charitable nature and unselfish interests. As a mother, she lived the lives of her children and gave them every care and kindness humanly possible. Her innumerable friends will join in their bereavement.

Born In Flanagan.
As the daughter of John and Katherine Godfrey, she was born May 20, 1849 in Flanagan, Ill. It was in Streator, March 22, 1889 that she was united in marriage with William Barnwell. They were the parents of six children, one, Mrs. Agnes Durham, of Streator, who preceded her mother in death 10 months ago. Besides her husband she leaves five children, Mrs. Mary Neblock, Mrs. Francis Stewart, and Mrs. Catherine Bryant of Streator, Mrs. Henrietta Russ, and Edward Barnwell of Ottawa. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Mary Ann Barnwell, and Mrs. Catherine Wright of Streator.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday morning from the home, 811 South Vermillion street, at 8:30 and 9 o'clock from the Immaculate Conception church. Rev. W. A. Courtney, pastor at the Budd church at Sunbury will officiate at the services. Interment will be made in the St. Mary's cemetery.

8605 Mrs. Beckham Lawson
Mrs. Beckham Lawson, an employe of Ma-Be-Ha Laundry, died at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday at her home, 1078 alder. She was the former Minnie ward, a native of Louisville. She was 60.
Surviving beside her husband are two daughters, Mrs. Louise Brinley and Mrs. Ruth Berger, Mount Washington; a son, James Reed, Milwaukee; two brothers, Roy Ward, Elizabeth, Ind., and Clifton Ward; a stepson James Lawson; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at W.G. hardy Broadway Chapel, 3415 W. Broadway. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

8606 Mrs. Belle Alexander
Ann Isabel Northcott, daughter of B.F. and Elizabeth Northcott born June 25, 1848, in Menard County, Ill., and died Monday, January 6, 1936 after an illness of only 24 hours, at her home in Browning. She was educated in the public schools then in Quincy College. She came with her parents to Missouri and was married march 1, 1866 to George G. Alexander. To this union were born nine children, five of whom have passed to the beyond: Lydia, David, Mattie Trowbridge, Fred and Herman Alexander. The husband also precedeed her in death. Those of the family left to mourn her departure are Ben W. Alexander, Purdin, Mo., Mrs. Lizzie Nickell, Sumner, Mo., Henry Alexander, Alva, Okla.; Mrs. Irene Garrett, Browning, and a sister, Mrs. Nellie Ormiston, Linneus.
The funeral was Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock from the Southern Methodist church. The grandson acted as pall bearers. Burial was in the Jenkins Cemetery beside her late husband.
The deceased joined the Methodist church early in life, but transferred her membership to the Presbyterian church. She was a woman of strong mentality, loyal to all fine ideals of Christian womanhood. She was a loyal wife, a devoted mother and true friend. She retained her mental faculties until she died.
There are left eighteen grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
The pallbearers were grandsons, Wayne and Harvey Alexander, of Linneus, Kenneth and Carl Nickell of Sumner, Earl Trowbridge of Carrollton, George Alexander of Kirksville.
The granddaughters carried the flowers.
The music was furnished by a quartette, Ray Calhoun, Mrs. Lorene Whaley, Miss Loraine Glaze and James Williams, with Mrs. Glaze at the piano. Their voices blended well and their selections suitable and beautiful. They sang Mrs. Alexander's favorite sons, among them "It is Well With My Soul."

8607 Mrs. Ben Harris Dies Suddenly
Mrs. Sarah Margaret Harris, 78, of Birmingham, Clay County, died last Thursday of a heart attack in a doctor's office in Liberty.
Mrs. Harris was the wife of Benjamin Harris and a resident of the Elkton community for a number of years. She was a native of Brownington, Mo. For the past 12 years she had resided in Birmingham. She was a member of the Mount Morah Baptist church at Milan.
Surviving besides her husband are three sons, Duane Harris, Independence; Earl Harris, Gladstone, and Keith Harris, Kansas City, North; two daughters, Mrs. Velma Whitaker, Gladstone and Mrs. Beulah Moore, Liberty; three brothers, Everett Neely, Green Castle, and Emery and Ray Neely, Brookfield; six sisters, Mrs. Eunice Freeman, Yuba, Calif.; Mrs. Edith McCoy, Maryville, Calif.; Mrs. Victoria Engleman, Chillicothe; Mrs. Addie Gatlin and Mrs. Elfie McCoy, Kansas City and Mrs. Nellie Owen, Brookfield; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Pasley Chapel in Liberty, and at 3 p.m. Sunday in the New Garden Baptist Church at Brookfield. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Services for Mrs. Bertha B. Brooks, 80, 45 Beechway Drive, the widow of Laben Brooks, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Conkle Speedway Funeral Home, with burial in Floral Park Cemetery. Mrs. Brooks, a lifelong Indianapolis resident, died Friday in a local nursing home. Survivors include two sons, Charles Brooks Sr. of Indianapolis and Delbert Brooks of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and five daughters, Mrs. Deloris Cowger of Noblesville, Mrs. Norma Henderson of Indianapolis, Mrs. Phyllis Beethuis of Holland, Mich., Mrs. Bertha Conley of Sheridan and Mrs. Judith Daugherty of Danville.

Mrs. Bertha Hall, 94, Kearney in Clay county, died Thursday at the Odd Fellows Home, Liberty. She was born in Clinton County, Missouri, and had lived in Kearney since 1956. Mrs. Hall was a member of Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church, near Trimble, Mo. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Fry Chapel, Kearney; burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight at the chapel.

Mrs. Bertha Razor, 83, of Riverview Manor convalescent and Nursing Home, 701 Riverview St., died of a heart ailment Sunday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital after a year's illness.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hamilton's Funeral Home with burial in Resthaven Cemetery.
Mrs. Razor was born in Farmers, Ky., and lived in Bancroft before moving to Des Moines 50 years ago. She was a member of the First Church of God.
Surviving are five sons, Alvin of Collins, Richard of Portland, Ore., Edison of Clinton, Marvin and Robert, both of Des Moines; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Anabel Jiminez of Sun Valley, calif., and Mrs. Evelyn Heidt of San Antonio, Tex.; a brother, Rayburn Padgett of South Bend, Ind., 34 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

8611 Mrs. Bessie Bohlander Dies Of Heart Attack While On Vacation Trip.
Mrs. Bessie Bohlander, 61, of 1003 Riverside Drive, died Tuesday of a heart attack at Alice, Texas. She and her husband had left here Saturday morning on a vacation trip, had visited in San Antonio, and were en route to Mexico City, when she was stricken.
The body has been returned to the Eikenberry funeral home at Delphi where friends may call after noon today. Final rites will be held there Saturday at two o’clock. The Reverend Eldridge of Yeoman will officiate and burial will be in Grand View cemetery, Lafayette.
The Bohlanders have lived here five years, coming the Indianapolis. She was a member of the Ft. Wayne O.E.S.
Born December 18, 1894, in Loda, Ill., she was the daughter of John and Ida Mae Clifton Boyce. Her marriage on Sept. 30, 1914 was to Herschel Bohlander.
Survivors are the husband; one son, Edward, of this city; four grandchildren; two sisters and a brother: Mrs. Ben Widner, Delphi; Mrs. Edith Gregory, California; Cecil, Lafayette.

8612 Mrs. Betty L. Sharp
Mrs. Betty Lee Sharp, 82, a resident of the Jacks Creek Pike and widow of Ulysses S. Sharp, died early yesterday at a local nursing home after a long illness.
A native of Jessamine County, she spent much of her life in Fayette County and was a daughter of the later Melvin and Sallie Sagaser Lee. She was a member of the East Hickman Baptist Church.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Frank S. Stephens, Mrs. Stanley Hedges, Mrs. Roy L. Bailey, Mrs. Harry C. Lawson and Miss Elizabeth Sharp, all of Lexington; a son, J. P. Sharp, Oldham County; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at the W.R. Milward Mortuary-Broadway by the Rev. John T. Wallace. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Nicholasville.
Casket bearers will be Alvin Stephens, Clarence Stephens, Stanley Hedges, David Hedges, Donald Sharp and Jackie Lawson.

She is survived by her children, Edward (JoAnn) Merryman, Glenn (Debbi) Merryman, Peggy McCord and Elmer Daryl (Diane) Merryman; one sister, Beulah Kelly; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery, Jessamine County, Kentucky.

Wilmore, Ky., Oct. 11. – Mrs. Blanche Moody, 38, died at her home here this morning following an illness of two months. Besides her husband, Edgar Moody, mail carrier here, she is survived by two daughters, Misses Thelma and Stella Moody; five sons, Harvey, George, Hugh, Bill and L.B. Moody; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L.B. Hagerdorn; and two brothers, L.D. Hagerdorn, Jr., and James Hagerdorn.
Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church here Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock.

Mrs. Blossom Razor, 60, of Madrid, formerly of Des Moines, died of a heart attack Wednesday in Boone County Hospital at Boone. She had been ill for several years.
Mrs. Razor, who was born near Baxter, lived in Slater and then in Des Moines for 12 years before moving to Madrid about 30 years ago. She was a retired baby-sitter and member of the Church of God in Madrid.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Sundberg Funeral Home at Madrid, with burial in a Madrid Cemetery.
There are no immediate family survivors.

8616 Mrs. Bonnie Frances Hedges, 78, died Thursday evening at her home in Hale.
She was born Sept. 19, 1907 in Hale, a daughter of R. E. and May (Parker) Callaway.
Bonnie attended Maryville State Teachers College and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
On December 17, 1927 she married Arthur Marion Hedges in Carrollton. They were the parents of 2 sons and 2 daughters.
Surviving are her husband, of the home; two sons, Arthur Marion Hedge Jr., Green Ridge; and Lyle Harold Hedges, Jefferson City; a daughter Bonnie Mae Hedges Greer, Stafford, Arizona; a sister, Mary Stephenson, DeWitt; eight grandchildren, and seven great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a child, Helen; two brothers, Eugene and Ralph Callaway, and a sister, Kaye Lyons.
The body of Mrs. Hedges was donated for research to the School of Medicine, the University of Missouri, Columbia.
Local arrangements were made by Norman-Wagy-Singer Funeral Home.

8618 Mrs. Buena Hunt, 72, Passes Away At Walsh
Death a short time following the funeral services Thursday for a son claimed Mrs. Buena Vesta Hunt, 72, widow of Scott Hunt.
Mrs. Hunt died at 4;50 p.m. Thursday at her home at Walsh. Her son, William Hunt, 31, died Tuesday in Portsmouth General hospital and was buried Thursday afternoon in Bennett's chapel cemetery.
Mrs. Hunt's death was attributed to shock over the sudden death of her son who died of a shotgun wound. She had not been in the best of health, however. Her condition did not permit her to attend the rites.
A native of Mason county, W.Va., Mrs. Hunt was born Oct. 29, 1866. Her husband and three children preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter; Walter Hunt at home, Clyde Hunt of Fullerton and Mrs. Katherine Adkins of Portsmouth route 1. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. Rebecca Smith of Portsmouth, a brother, John Major of Flat Hollow, Ky., a niece, Mrs. Ida Myers of Pomeroy and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bennett's chapel and burial will be in the chapel cemetery, under the direction of J.R. Morton & Son. The body is at the residence.

8619 Mrs. C. Alice Cramer, widow of Andrew G. Cramer, died at her home in Lewistown, this county, Sunday morning about 7:30 o'clock after an illness of about 15 months. The primary cause of her death was gallstones. She was aged about 62 years and was a daughter of the late David and Catherine Hedges, who resided about two miles from Lewistown. Surviving are one son and one daughter, Mrs. Charles S. Snook and Mr. Andrew G. Cramer. They are the owners and proprietors of the A.G. Cramer Company store in Lewistown. Mrs. Cramer also leaves two brothers, David and Charles Hedges of Walkersville and one sister, Mrs. David Cramer of Walkersville.

The funeral will be held from her late residence this morning at 10 o'clock, services to be conducted by the Rev. S.M. Hench of Cavetown. Interment will be made in Mount Olivet Cemetery. M.L. Creager of Thurmont is the funeral director in charge.

8621 Mrs. Clara E. Wakerly Dies at S.F. Home
Daughter of late Mr., Mrs. Wm. H. Beagles of Napa succumbs to attack of Pneumonia
Mrs. Clara E. Wakerly, second daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William H. Beagles, pioneer Napa county settlers, was summoned by death at her home in San Francisco at four o’clock this morning.
Death followed an illness of but ten days due to pneumonia.
Mrs. Wakerly was born and grew to womanhood in this community. About 20 years ago she moved to San Francisco where her home had since been. She was the widow of the late William Wakerly, also a former Napan.
A woman of sterling character, kindly and sympathetic, and sincere in her desire to add to the happiness of others, Mrs. Wakerley was loved by all who had the privilege of her friendship.
Left to mourn her loss are the following sisters and brothers: Miss Amanda and Miss Florence Beagles of Napa, Mrs. May Baker, Mrs. Lou Emlay, and Mrs. Joyce Shaner of San Francisco, Donald H. Beagles of Napa, and Robert Beagles of Santa Rosa. She also leaves the following nieces and nephews: Mrs. Leathea [Alethea] Reed of Santa Rosa, Mrs. Pearl Pearson of San Francisco, Beverly Clark of Salinas, and Chester Beagles of San Francisco.
Arrangement for the funeral have not as yet been announced.

8622 Mrs. Claude Perrin Dies; Services at 2 p.m. Friday
Mrs. Claude (Mossie) Perrin died at 4 a.m. today at her home in St. Catherine following an extended illness. She was 52.
Mrs. Perrin was born Sept. 10, 1904, in Mason County, and was married to Claude Perrin on Jan. 12, 1927. Survivors, in addition to her husband, include three children: Mrs. Emma Lee Forges, Glasgow; Mrs. Shirley Moore, St. Catherine; and Meril Dean Perrin, Independence; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Cassity, Brookfield; her father-in-aw, Joe Perrin, of the home; a brother, Ray Cassity, Brookfield; three sisters, Mrs. Clarence Apel, Brookfield; Mrs. Edwin Price, College Mound; Mrs. John Tallman, Bogard; and three grandchildren.
Early in her life, Mrs. Perrin joined the Church of Christ, and later she became a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church where she was active in functions of the church and belonged to the Ladies’ Aid.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday by the Rev. Warren Haley, Norborne, at the Pleasant View Church. Burial will b in the adjoining cemetery, under the direction of the Wright Funeral Home, Brookfield, where the body was taken.

Mrs. Mattie Estella Hedges, wife of Clinton E. Hedges, died at their home near Lewistown, Sunday, 9:25 p.m. after an illness of three weeks, aged 75 years. She was a daughter of the late George R. and Carrie Warner Shaw, and was a member of the Utica Lutheran church. Besides her husband, she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Walter Gemmill, Hanover, Pa. The body rests at the funeral home, 106 East Church street, Frederick. Funeral arrangements will be announce by M.R. Etchison and son, funeral directors.

8624 Mrs. Cobb, ‘Mother’ To 363 Children, Dies
Funeral services for Mrs. Edna Cobb, 60 years old, a former resident of Indianapolis, who died Friday at her home at Clayton in Hendricks County, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Weaver Funeral Home in Danville, Burial will be in Floral Park Cemetery.
A native of Indianapolis, Mrs. Cobb lived here all of her life before moving to Clayton four years ago. In addition to her own family, she reared 363 foster children.
She was a member of the West Side Church of Nazarine and held a life membership in the Foreign Women’s Missionary Society.

She is survived by two children, Larry Hedges and Miss Catherine Hedges, at home; three sisters, Mrs. Theodore Titze, New York City; Mrs. George B. Delaplaine Sr. and Mr. H. Lavier Michael, Frederick, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Surviving are seven sons, Elmer, Jimmy, Elmo and Kenneth, all of Dana, Charles of Indianapolis, Robert of Chrisman, Ill. and Orvil of Lafayette; three daughters, Mrs. Lucille Todd of Rockville and Mrs. Thelma Raradin and Mrs. Eleanor Silotto, both of Dana; one brother, Frank Barnett of Decatur, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Maude Dobbs of Decatur, Ill, and Mrs. Sally carter of Ramsey, Ill; 34 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon at the First Baptist Church here. The Rev. Lewis Derengacs will officiate and burial will follow in the Prairie Township Chapel cemetery, west of here. Friends are to call after 2 o’clock Friday afternoon at the Kersey Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to services.

Allerton – Mrs. Daisy I Smith, 79, of Allerton, died Sunday morning (Oct. 15, 1978) at the Vermilion Manor Nursing Home. She had been ill three years.
She had resided on a farm north of Allerton during her married life until retirement in 1967.
She was a member of the Allerton Church of Christ. He enjoyed crocheting and gardening.
Born Aug. 20, 1899, in Neoga, she was the daughter of Francis and Alice Wisely Easton. She was married Sept 26. 1918, at Danville to Leonard W. Smith, who died Jan. 10, 1978.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. John (Irene) Hanks of Allerton and Mrs. Kenneth (Lois) Dodd of Danville; two brothers, Nolon Easton of Tolono and Allen Easton of Mnrovia, Ind.; a sister, Mrs. Mary Lannon of Urbana; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Allerton Church of Christ, with the Rev. Bob Reagor officiating. Burial will be in Young American Cemetery at Hume. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the Honnold & Son Funeral Home in Sidell. The body will be taken to the church an hour before services.

8630 Mrs. Dana Hyde Pleak died at 6:30 o'clock Monday evening in Kirksville, Mo, after undergoing a serious operation. She had suffered injuries in an interurban wreck near Sand Springs, Okla, in July, 1912, never fully recovering.

Mrs. Pleak was born near Moweaqua, Ill living there until 12 years ago. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I.B. Hyde. She was graduated from the American School of Osteopathy in Kirksville, Mo, with the class of 1903. Mrs. Pleask was a member of the Christian church. She and her husband moved to Tulsa, Okla, eight years ago where she practiced osteopathy until the interurban accident in July, 1912.

Mrs. Pleak leaves her husband, mother, two sisters and three brothers, Luta King, Decatur, Dr. Wendell Hyde, Crowley La, Leonas Hyde, Boseman, Mont, Dr. Leslie Hyde, El Paso, Texas and Chester Hyde, Hardin, Mont.

The body will arrive in Decatur at 11 o'clock this morning and will be taken to the home of the mother,Mrs.J.B.Hyde,1204 W. Macon street. Funeral services will be announced later.

Mrs. Dolores Goggin, 51, sister of a Monticello man, passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette of an extended illness, Sunday, August 26 at 11:25 p.m.
She was born in Warren co. Indiana on April 30, 1911, the daughter of Mrs. Carrie Flynn of Oxford and the Late Roscoe Flynn. She spent her early life around Boswell and later years at Terre Haute. Her husband, Thomas F. Goggin and a son, Thomas F. Goggin Jr., preceded her in death.
Survivors are two sons: Charles of Lafayette and Jerry of Monticello, her mother, Mrs. Carrie Flynn, Oxford, two brothers, Neal Flynn of Boswell, Lowell (Barney) Flynn, Monticello, two sisters, Mrs. Harold Davis, Ambia and Mrs. Harold Elliott of Lafayette. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Maplewood Christian Church at Terre Haute with Rev. Neil Kuns, at 1 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. Interment in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens at Terre Haute. Thomas Funeral Home is in charge.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. (EST) Tuesday at the Ewing Baptist Church by the Rev. Darrell Cruse. Burial will be in Shannon Cemetery. The body will be removed to the home Sunday afternoon from Price Brothers Funeral Home.

Mrs. E.T. Helms, wife of Dr. Helms, died at her home, 312 Eleventh avenue east, Saturday, after an illness of some duration. Born Mary J. Hawkins, Aug. 20, 1882, at Hillsboro, Kentucky, she came to Eugene in 1925.
At the age of three, she moved with her parents to Linneus, Mo., where she grew to womanhood. She was married to Dr. E.T. Helms, May 22, 1901. Dr. and Mrs. Helms spent five years in Boise, Idaho, before moving to Portland in 1913. They moved to Hillsboro in 1915 and came here from there.
Mrs. Helms was a member of the Christian church, Order of Eastern Star. She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Ruth E. Jones, Astoria, and one brother, J.H. Hawkins, San Francisco. Funeral announcements will be made later from the Veatch chapel.

Boswell, Jan. 19. - (Special) - Mrs. Edna M. Flood, 49, of William sport, died at the Williamsport hospital Saturday at 4;15 p.m. of peritonitus which developed after she had suffered a ruptured appendix.
Born in Fithian, Ill., she married George Flood. She was a member of the Methodist church. Surviving besides the husband, are three children: Leslie, Of Earl Park; Ralph, of Williamsport; and Mrs. Bessie Leman, of Fowler; four brothers, Everett Plotner, of Akron, Ind.; John Plotner, of Fairmount, Ill.; Fred Plotner, of St. Joseph, Ill.; and earl Plotner, of Armstrong, Ill.; and two sisters, Lola Davis, of Muncie, Ill., and Myrtle Russell, of Culver.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Rainesville M.E. church, with the Rev. Fred Longwell, assisted by the Rev. Mr. Gardner, officiating. Burial will be in Rainesville cemetery.

Mrs. George was a member of the First Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star.
Services were held at 1:30 P.M. Saturday with Dr. W.H. Barnsford, Pastor of the First Methodist Church, in charge. Interment was in East Maplewood Cemetery.
She is survived by the husband; three grandsons, Donald G. Main, Anderson, and John D. Main and Richard D. Main, Both of Indianapolis; five great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Sylvia Smith of Brookville.

She was a member of the Methodist Church, the Women's Society of Christian Service, the Woman's Club and the Fair Board, all of Akron. She was chairman of the Woodlawn Women's Hospital Auxiliary of Rochester, active in the Fulton County Chorus, and the Henry Twp. Community Service. In 1943, she was married to Edward Plotner who survives, along with two daughters, Mrs. Earl Hoffman, of Akron; Mrs. Vernon Dye, of Albuquerque, N.M.; two sons, Emmet Taylor, of Wabash, Ind., and Charles Taylor, of Buena Park, Calif.; two brothers, Dewey Merley, of Akron, and LeRoy Merley, of Rochester; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A former resident of Lewis County died August 11th at Medaryville, Ind.
Mrs. Eliza Vawter, for many years a resident of Lewis County, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary A. Hedges, at Medaryville, Ind., Aug. 11th, in the ninety-second year of her age. Her husband, Pascal Vawter, preceded her to the grave five years. She was the mother of eight children, four of whom are living, - C.P. Vawter of Lexington (formerly of Springdale), Elder J. M. Vawter of Jeffersonville, Ind., Mrs. Jesse Truesdell of Cove Dale, Ky., and Mrs. Hedges. Mrs. Vawter left forty grandchildren, forty-one great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She had been a member of the Christian Church seventy-five year.

She was born Feb. 6, 1872 at Reedy, West Virginia; a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Boggs. She was married to Henry Clay Cylbert in 1889, in West Virginia. He died in August, 1941.
Surviving are three sons, Ben and Foster, Ludlow; Joseph, Gifford; two daughters, Mrs. Thad Gilkison, Armstrong; Mrs. Bessie Garvin, Hot Spring, Ark.; a sister, Mrs. Ella Quick, Lowell, Ohio; 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. A daughter, three sisters and four brothers preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Ludlow Methodist Church.

Ella Elston, the daughter of Judge William and Sarah Elston, was born in Linn county, Missouri, July 9, 1875 and departed this life April 5, 1932, age 58 years, 6 months and 26 days. Early in life she united with the Christian church under the pastorate of rev. Wallace to which faith she was ever true. She was united in marriage to William Pulliam, November 27, 1892. To this union three children were born: Lloyd A. of Watertown, S.D., Jesse O., of Linneus, and Mrs. Eva May Monroe of Purdin. She is survived by three grand children, June Arlene Pulliam, Dorris Nadine Pulliam and Norman Jean Monroe, an uncle, Isaac Elston of Woodward, Okla., a nephew, Claude Watson of St. Joseph and other relatives who mourn her passing. The deceased was a woman of high ideals and very devoted to family and home and was honored and loved by a large circle of friends where she has lived here entire life. Funeral services were conducted by Elder C.E. Potter, of Browning and burial was at the beautiful Purdin cemetery.

Other surviving relatives include a daughter, Mrs. Fern Beagles of San Diego and Willis Lenocker of Del Ray, a grandson.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:30 AM in the Lisle Funeral Chapel, with Rev. H. Gregg officiating. Internment will be in the Belmont Memorial Park.

Mildred D. , daughter of George W. and Mildred Cooper, was born April 6th, 1880, and died December 25th, 1936.
She was married to Elmer Alexander, January 29, 1899, and to them the following children were born: Virgil, who died October 10, 1912, Clyde of Meadville, Mo., Raymond of Laclede, Mo., Mrs. Reva Smith of Chula, Mo., and Alpha, of the home. She also leaves four grandchildren.
Her living brothers and sisters are E.J. Cooper, of Solomon, Kas., Mrs. Nan King of Walker, Mo., Mrs. Belle Barnes, of Eden Idaho, Mrs. Alice Canada, of Jerome, Idaho, Herbert Cooper of Eden, Idaho, Grover Cooper, of Chula, MO., Wheeler Cooper of Laredo, Mo., Herman Cooper, of Purdin, Mo. R.J. Cooper and Homer Cooper have preceded her in death.
She united with the church at Morris Chapel in 1894 under the ministry of the Rev. E.E. Bostwick, and has lived a faithful member since.
Her entire life has been spent in Linn County with the exception of five years spent in Oklahoma.
Although she has been ill for several years, she has been a patient sufferer, and has always been concerned about the welfare of her family and friends who are left to mourn her passing.

Mrs. Hamner was born Jan. 30, 1885, at Holton, and was married Oct. 14, 1903, to John Wallace Hamner. They had resided in the Valley Falls community since 1925. He died in 1962.

Surviving are a son, Charles R. Hamner, Overbrook; a daughter, Mrs. Edna Fowble, Valley Falls; a brother, Robert Estes, Louisville, Ky., and four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow at the First Christian Church in Valley Falls and burial will be in the Valley Falls Cemetery with Hagge Funeral Home in charge.
