9701 Mrs. Henrietta Stubenrach, Formerly of Browns Valley, Dies in Santa Rosa
Mrs. Henrietta Studenrauch, years ago a resident of Browns Valley in Napa Cuonty, passes away Friday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert Beagles at 330 Tenth street, in Santa Rosa.
Mrs. Stubenrauch had made her home with her daughter for the past five years and had suffered a lingering illness.
She had many old-time friends in Napa who will regret to hear of her passing. Her home in Browns Valley was the scene of many happy social gathering of a quarter of a century and more ago. Her daughter, whose hand Robert Beagles of Napa claimed in marriage, was a talented musician and was most popular in a wide circle of friends here.
Mrs. Stubenrauch was 79 years of age at the time of her death. She had lived in California for over 40 years.
Besides her daughter, Mrs. Beagles of Santa Rosa, Mrs. Stubenrauch is survived by a son, Charles A. Stubenrauch of Seattle; three sisters, Mrs. Amelia Rothwell of Sacramento, Mrs. Carolyn Cole and Miss Rose Weber of San Francisco; a brother, J. Charles Weber, of Berkeley, and four grandchildren. She was a native of New Orleans.
The funeral will beheld from St. Rose Catholic Church in Santa Rosa at 9:30 o’clock next Monday morning.
The remains will be taken to Cypress Lawn Cemetery in San Francisco and there interred beside those of the husband who was taken by death some thirty years ago.

9702 Mrs. Henry O. Talbott.
Mrs. Sara Ann Talbott, widow of the late Henry O. Talbott, formerly of Charles-Town, W.Va., died Saturday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Buckner, Washington. The body will be brought to Frederick on Tuesday, arriving on the 11:10 o’clock train. Burial will be made in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Besides her daughter, she is survived by three sisters, Miss Rebecca Claggett, Frederick, Mrs. Virginia Harwood, Washington, and Mrs. Mary Bowlus, Dayton, O., C.C. Carty is the funeral director.

She was the former Mary Elizabeth Downing and a member of First United Methodist Church in Lexington.
Survivors: a daughter, Mrs. Baylor Landrum Jr.; a sister, Mrs. Fred B. Tetzel; and three grandchildren.
Graveside service: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation: the Landrum residence, Fairway Lane, 4-6 p.m. Tuesday. Arrangements: Pearson’s.

9704 Mrs. Ida Alice Johnson, of Sweetwater, died at 6 p.m. Monday, April 28, 1952, at her residence, age 78.

She is survived by two brothers, Riley Gilkison, of Peoria; and Russell Gilkison, of Sweetwater; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Reeves, of Normal; and Mrs. Hetta Blakemore, of Marion, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.

Remains to Ennis funeral home, Greenview. Funeral services were held at the Sweetwater Christian church.

Burial in Sugar Grove cemetery.

9705 Mrs. IDA CATHERINE BUXTON, wife of Aldridge I. Buxton, died at her home, Fairview Avenue, this morning, after an illness of four months, aged 77 years. She was a daughter of the late Lewis Abraham and Mary Elizabeth Ramsburg Hedges.

She was a member of Grace Evangelical and Reformed Church, this city, and the Ladies Guild of the Utica Reformed Church. For many years she was the rent agent for property owners in Frederick.

Surviving are her husband; one son, Frank H. Lewis, this city, by a former marriage to the late J. Henry Lewis; one brother, Clinton E. Hedges, Lewistown.

Services were held at the M.R. Etchison and Son funeral home; interment in Utica Cemetery.

9706 Mrs. Ida May Freeman Dies At Trenton
Mrs. Ida May Freeman, 83, died at 10:30 this morning at the Whitfield Nursing Home in Trenton. Mrs. Freeman was the widow of Joel Freeman. Prior to his death, they resided in the Alpha community.
Surviving are four children, two sons, Floyd Freeman, Yuba City, Calif., and Wayne Freeman, Laredo, and two daughters, Mrs. Ray Anderson, Wheeling, and Mrs. Aubrey Dust, Laredo. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son and a daughter.
The body is at the E.J. Robertson Funeral Home in Laredo. Funeral arrangements will be announced tomorrow.

9707 Mrs. Irene Smithers
Mrs. Mildred Irene Smither, 61, 1718 Hickory Drive, died Sunday evening at 5 o'clock at Hedrick Medical Center, where she had been a patient one day.
Mrs. Smithers was born Dec. 4, 1916 at Purdin, daughter of Charley E. Pulliam and Gertrude Buswell Pulliam. She attended school at Browning and was a graduate of the Purdin High School. On May 21, 1937 she was married to Chester William Smithers at Laclede. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Chillicothe Rebekah lodge. The couple moved to Chillicothe in 1950.
Mrs. Smithers was a former Chillicothe city clerk and had operated the Missouri Motor Vehicle License bureau in Chillicothe. Mr. Smithers died Jan. 26, 1976.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Pat (Norlene) Laffey, Chillicothe, and Mrs. Lewis (Charlene) Wisniewski, Excelsior Springs; a brother, Charles Pulliam, Purdin and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Palmer officiating. The casket will be moved to the church at noon Tuesday. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home.

9708 Mrs. J. C. Nippert, 54, passed away at her home in Worthington, Ky., yesterday after a short illness.

She is survived by her husband, J.C. Nippert, three sons, Pyrus, Hercules and Howard Beatly at home; one sister, Mrs. Dora Roberts who resided with here, and two brothers, Mr. Harry Hunt of Fullerton, and Mr. Theo Hunt of Charleston, W.Va.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist church in Raceland with Rev. Perkins and Rev. Gallion in charge and burial in Belfonte Memorial cemetery near Ashland.

9709 Mrs. J. G. Cassity Dies Here Sunday; Services Tuesday
Funeral services for Mrs. Jessie G. Cassity, 71, wife of Dr. George H. Cassity of 853 DaIzell St., who died in a local hospital at 5:20 a.m. Sunday following a heart attack, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Osborn Chapel with Dr. William E. Wright, pastor of Kings Highway Christian Church, officiating. Interment will be in Forest Park Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be N. R. Carstarphen, Jack Fontaine, Eddie Hughens, H. S. Lonergan, Rene Navarre, William D. Omohundro, Cecil Poss and W. Loren Meyers. Mrs. Cassity had been a resident of Shreveport for the past 45 years. She was a member of the Kings Highway Christian Church. She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Cecile Brunazzi of Texarkana; a son, Maurice Cassity of Shreveport; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Frankfort – Mrs. Bessie Goin Evans, 53, of 10 Fannin Court, wife of J.C. Evans, died at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday at King’s Daughters Hospital after a two year illness. A native of Frankfort, she was a member of the First Christian Church and the Frankfort Woman’s Club and was a past president of the Christian Women’s Fellowship and the Second Street and Murray Street Schools Parent-Teacher Association.
She also is survived by a daughter, Miss Louis Evans, Frankfort; her mother, Mrs. David Goin, widow of a former postmaster here; four brothers, Henry, Phillip, David and Kenneth Goin, all of Frankfort; three sisters, Mrs. J.W. Sullivan, Mrs. Louis Stivers and Mrs. Carl Gordon, all of Frankfort.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Rogers Chapel by the Rev. John C. Chenault. Burial will be in Frankfort Cemetery. The body is at the Rogers Funeral Home.

9711 Mrs. J.D. Jenkins died at her home four miles southeast of Browning yesterday morning about three o’clock of erysipelas. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Reedy of Purdin after which the body was interred at the Jenkins cemetery. Mrs. Jenkins was about 77 years old and had lived in this vicinity more than sixty years. – Browning Leader-Record.

9712 Mrs. J.F. Hannah Died In Urbana
Mrs. John F. Hannah, mother of Harry I. Hannah, 3113 Western avenue, died at 12:30 o’clock this morning at her home in Urbana after a long illness. Death was due to complications incident to old age. Mrs. Hannah was 79 years old.
The funeral will be held at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon at the Christian church in Urbana. Burial will be in Urbana.
Mrs. Hannah, as Emma Jane Donaldson, was born April 6, 1863 at Fithian. On Dec. 24, 1885, she was married to John F. Hannah, also of Fithian, and in 1920 they moved to Urbana to enable their son, Harry I. Hannah, to attend the University of Illinois. Mr. Hannah, a farmer, retired when they moved to Urbana.
Surviving beside her husband and son are three grandchildren, Norman, David and Miss Marilyn Hannah of this city.

9714 Mrs. J.M. Bowles Died.
After a lingering illness covering many months, Mrs. Laura Bowles, wife of J.M. Bowles, died at the family home northeast of Laclede, Thursday, January 20, 1921. She was born February 19, 1851. The funeral services were conducted by Walter Acree at the home on Saturday, January 22, and burial was made in the Laclede cemetery. The husband and 7 daughters and two sons survive here. One daughter died in infancy.

9715 Mrs. J.S. Gill
Mrs. J.S. Gill, who has lingered at death's door for some three or four weeks, finally yielded to the claims of the dread messenger, her death occurring at 10:15 o'clock Monday, March 6th, at their home in this city. The funeral services, conducted by Rev. Sleeth, took place at the home at 2 o'clock the following day, and the remains laid to rest in the Lyndon cemetery.
Mrs. Gill was a native of Indiana. She was born November 5, 1867, in Wells county, where she, Emma J. Furgeson, was married to James Stewart Gill of this place, February 27, 1889, since which time she has been a most respected resident of this community. Four children resulted from this union, two sons and two daughters, the sons preceding her in death, the last by little more than a week.
She seemed to enjoy good health until a few months ago, when she began to decline, her difficulties developing later into a form of comsumption.
Her husband and two little girls, whose loss and grief seems greatest, have the fullest sympathy of the people of the community.

9716 Mrs. J.W. Hedges, Purdin Died At Her Home
Mrs. Ona Mae Hedges, daughter of John Jess and Martha Cassity Garrett, was born February 23, 1886, in Linn County, Missouri, and departed this life at her home in Purdin, October 24, 1960, at the age of 74 years.
She was baptized at an early age into the Church of Christ, located at Grantsville, Missouri.
She was united in marriage to John W. Hedges, December 17, 1905, and to this union four children were born.
Mrs. Hedges is survived by her husband of the home; two sons, Ivan, of Kansas City and Lee Ellis, of Browning; also five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; two brothers, Oca and Jay Garrett of Browning and two sisters, Mrs. Nora Peery of Linneus and Mrs. Veda Bivens of Denver, Colo., and many other relatives and a host of friends.
Through the dark and shadowed night;
The Master’s ever loving hand,
Has led our loved one tenderly,
Into his bright eternal land;
And may He bring us comfort now
And free our hearts of grief and care
Leaving only treasured thoughts and memories
Of our loved one there.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 26, 1960, at 2 p.m. in the Church of Christ in Purdin, and conducted by the Rev. Jack W. Ward, of Gilman City. The song service was by Mrs. Guyer and Mrs. Shirley Campbell.
Casket bearers were Robert Lytle, Larry Hedges, Gale Hedges, Jerry Hedges, Elgin Monroe and Loren Owens.
Interment was made in the Purdin cemetery, under the direction of the Wade Funeral Home.

9717 Mrs. James F. Thompson.
Mrs. Lorena Hedges Thompson, 62, of 326 East Maxwell Street, wife of James F. Thompson, died at 3;25 p.m. Thursday at Good Samaritan Hospital after a long illness.
She was a native of Mason County, a daughter of the late Martin Luther and Bessie Cook Hedges. She was a member of the Mays Lick Christian Church and had lived in Lexington since 1921.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, James F. Thompson Jr., Lexington ; a sister, Mrs. Perry M. Minor, Nicholasvile; a brother, Stanley Hedges, Dayton, Ohio, and three grandchildren, Linda Carol Thompson, Norene Thompson and James F. Thompson III, Lexington.
The body was taken to the W.R. Milward Mortuary – Broadway.
Services will be conducted there at 3 p.m. Monday by the Rev. W.C. Burris. Burial will be in the Lexington Cemetery.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Saturday.

9718 Mrs. Jennette Schrock
Jennette Frances Schrock, daughter of Thomas and Mary Ann Gibson, was born near Browning, Missouri, October 29, 1860 and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clora Cassity, near Purdin, Missouri, March 6, 1942, at the age of 81 years, 4 months and 7 days.
September 2, 1883, she was united in marriage to Sampson D. Schrock. Two children were born to this union, Clora Cassity, who survives, and Curtis A. Schrock, who passed away January 20, 1933. Her husband preceded her in death November 6, 1918.
Some twenty-five years ago Mrs. Schrock united with the Church of Christ in Purdin and remained a faithful worker as long as her health permitted.
Besides the one daughter, with whom she had made her home for the past three years, she is survived by one sister, Mrs. W.P. Broaddus, Chillicothe, Missouri; two brothers, W.L. Gibson, Toppenish, Washington and John Gibson, Denver, Colorado, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted from the home, west of Purdin, March 8, 1942, at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. H.R. Tate, pastor of the Methodist church in Browning. Burial was made in the Purdin cemetery. The pall bearers were: John Bumgarner, Walter McIntre, Alec Murrain, J.S. Purdin, Churchill Urback and Murphy Elliott.

9721 Mrs. John Bender Of Whiting Dies
Mrs. John Bender, 74, Whiting, died this morning at the Holton hospital. She had been in failing health several months, and entered the hospital Thursday.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Whiting Methodist church. Burial will be in the Whiting cemetery.
Mrs. Bender, the former Hattie Belle Meador, was born Aug. 23, 1881, at Bowers Mill, Mo. She and John Bender were married Sept. 20, 1900 at Afton, Okla.
They moved to a farm north of Atchison in 1906, and in 1914 moved to whiting where he engaged in farming. He preceded her in death April 30, 1948.
Mrs. Bender was a lifelong member of the Methodist church.
Surviving are four children, Mrs. Carl Linneman, Whiting, Mrs. Frank DeBusk, Ellinwood, and Carlie and John Bender, eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
She also is survived by a sister, Mrs. Jim Jackson, Carthage, Mo., and a brother, Bode Meador, Tulsa.

9722 Mrs. John Boner Dies At Her Home In Milan
Mrs. Lydia Jane Boner, wife of John Q. Boner, died at the family home Friday morning, September 4, at 6:30 o’clock after a long illness which had its beginning last January when she suffered an attack of the flue and from that time on Mrs. Boner never regained her usual robust health.
Mrs. Boner was born September 2, 1874, on the farm home of her parents west of Milan, being 57 years of age at the time of her death. The deceased was the daughter of pioneer citizens, Peter and Alnena Hill Cassity, and was the eighty child of a family of nine children. Five brothers passed to the great beyond previous to her passing as well as her parents.
Lydia J. Cassity was united in marriage on January 7, 1900, to John Q. Boner, also a native born resident of Milan. Two daughters came to bless the union, one dying in infancy. Mrs. Boner was a home loving woman, and her only interest in life was her devotion to her loved ones of whom she seemed to never tire in doing for. She was not confined to her bed until a short time before the end came. She was ready to go and remarked to those around her bed in the early hours last Friday that she “would be so glad when it was over.”
She leaves to mourn her a devoted husband, and a daughter, Mrs. Mary Boner Bramble, a sister, Mrs. W.M. Cavenee, of Magna, Utah, two brothers, P.T. Cassity, of Magna, Utah, and W.L. Cassity, of Balko, Okla. The funeral service was held at the family residence Sunday afternoon in the presence of a large gathering of friends and relatives, with Rev. Wilson Bentley officiating, after which interment took place in Oakwood cemetery.

(Bessie Brooks) Brent II, 50, 4121 Standish Drive, a lifelong Indianapolis resident, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday in Conkle Speedway Funeral Home, with burial in Floral Park Cemetery. She died Thursday in Westview Osteopathic Medical Hospital. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Survivors besides her husband, included two sons, John L. Brent III and Mark S. Brent; two daughters, Mrs. Beatrice Prosses and Miss Melinda Brent, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Laben Brooks, all of Indianapolis.

Economy – Gertrude F. Newton, 78, died unexpectedly Friday night at the Henry County Memorial Hospital in New Castle where she had been a patient one day.
She was a native of Morehead, Ky., and had resided in Muncie before moving to Economy 40 years ago. She was a member of the Christian Church in Morehead, Ky.
Survivors include her husband John C.; her sister, Mrs. Myrtie Estep of Morehead, Ky.; two brothers, Russell Gilkison of Morehead, and Thadeus Gilkison of Armstrong, Ill., and several nieces and nephews.
Services for Mrs. Newton will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Culbertson-Reynard Funeral Home in Modoc. Rev. Albert Oren will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery near Losantvile. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. John E. Swallow, secretary to Harry C. Black, died yesterday at her home, 576 West University Parkway, after being stricken earlier in the day at the Women's Exchange.
Mrs. Swallow, a native of Baltimore, was known in financial circles for her work with the Red Cross and the Liberty Loan campaign during the World War.
As Miss Florence I. Murray she became the secretary of the late H. Crawford Black nearly twenty-five years ago, and on his death served in the same capacity with his son.
In 1926 she married Dr. John E. Swallow, Baltimore dentist. They had no children.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her mother, Mrs. Florence I. Murray. Funeral arrangements had not been completed last night.

9726 Mrs. John Fosher Dead
Mrs. John Fosher, well known to many Linn county people and particularly well known here in Linneus where she resided several years, passed away at her home in St. Louis Friday night, August 25, 1922, the result of a complication of diseases. Her remains were brought to Purdin and the burial was in Grantsville cemetery, the services being conducted by Elder Feir of Browning, on the following Sunday.
Mrs. Fosher was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Manassa Blackburn, pioneers of this county, and at her death was 72 years old. The husband and the only son, Elmer, survive her, also one brother and one sister, Jas. Blackburn and Alice Trowbridge. She was an excellent woman and from her girlhood days was a devout member of the Christian church.

Funeral services for Mrs. Wilma Hedges Swartzendruver, 31, who passed away at 4;50 a.m. Monday, March 15, 1960, was held Thursday, March 17, at the Wagler Funeral Home, in Bloomfield, Iowa. The Rev. Donald Gill, pastor of the First Christian Church, in Ottumwa, Iowa, and the Rev. Myron Kreible officiated.
Wilma, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.M. Hedges, of Ottumwa, Iowa, was born January 4, 1929, in Kirksville, Mo.
On September 24, 1950, she was united in marriage to John Swartzendruver, and to this union one daughter, Kathryn Ann, was born.
She is survived by her husband and daughter of the home, her parents, one brother, Duane Hedges, of Dayton, Ohio, several uncles, aunts, cousins and other relatives and friends.

9728 Mrs. John W. Woodside Passed Away March 6, 1948
Pauline Phillips Woodside, daughter of James and Kathryn Phillips, was born near LaSalle, Illinois, August 24, 1866, and passed away March 6, 1948. Age 81 years, 6 months and 13 days.
She came to Missouri with her parents in 1884, where they settled on a farm east of Purdin, Missouri and there she spent all the remaining years of her life except the past three.
She was united in marriage to John W. Woodside on February 11, 1885, and to this union nine children were born, five sons and four daughters.
Her husband, one son, Jay, and an infant daughter preceded her in death.
Those who survives her passing are: Alex and Jesse, of Purdin, Mo., Herman, of Trenton, Mo., Stewart, of Omak, Wash., May Wright, of Santa Paula, Calif., Sina Elliott of Brookfield, Pearl Guyer of Omak, Wash. Three sisters, Mrs. Kate White, Oglesby, Ill., Ada Jackson, Modale, Iowa, Eva Phillips and one brother, Newton Phillips, Riverside, Calif. Twenty three grandchildren and thirty one great grandchildren. A number of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was united with the Grantsville Presbyterian Church on March 9, 1890.
Funeral services were held at the Thorne Funeral Home in Linneus, on March 8, 1948, conducted by Rev. Kenneth Kelley of Brookfield. Her remains were taken to the Pleasant Grove cemetery and she was laid to rest beside her husband and son.

9729 Mrs. Joyce Enadene Hahn, 81 of Frederick, passed away peacefully on April 9 2012 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law. She was the wife of the late G. William "Bill" Hahn, who died November 28, 1988 .

Born January 5, 1931 in Frederick, she a daughter of the late Austin Charles and Hazel Marie Firestone Gibbons.

She was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ, Frederick. She enjoyed working in her flower beds, crocheting, and spending time with her great-grandson Cody.

Mrs. Hahn was survived by her daughter: Lorretta Mercer and husband Grayson, her grandson: Grayson William "Bill" Mercer and wife Kelly; and her great-grandson: Cody William Mercer all of Frederick, her sister: Doris Droneburg, and a devoted brother-in-law, Roland Hahn of Fort Myers, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a son: William E. Hahn on March 3, 1995.

The family would like to thank Hospice for all of their help and care, the caring staff of FMH RoseHill, and Dr. Hundemer and her staff, during this difficult time.

Mrs. Hahn is at the Robert E. Dailey & Son Funeral Homes, P.A., 1201 North Market Street, Frederick, where the family will receive friends from 7-9 P.M. on Wednesday, April 11.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, April 12 at the funeral home with Rev. Doug Griffin, Grace UCC, officiating.

Pallbearers are Grayson Mercer, Billy Mercer, Jerry Carey, Bill Watson, Carl Deater, and Blessing Kaetzel.

Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.

9730 Mrs. Juanita Williams Sawyers, 85, of 502 Miller Avenue, Hinton, died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2000 in the Raleigh Center at Daniels following a long illness.

Born June 24, 1915, in Prince, she was the daughter of the late William Ingole Williams and Maude Williams Barrett.

Mrs. Sawyers was a resident of Hinton for the past 60 years. She attended Beckley Schools, was employed by Rahall's in Beckley and later retired as manager of Kessler's in Hinton.

She was a member of the Miller Memorial United Methodist Church in Hinton, the Delphia Club, Lady Golfers of Willowwood, and Friends of the Library.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray E. Sawyers, on May 15, 1999; two sisters, Alma Williams and Mary Evelyn Russell and two brothers, James Eligha Williams and William Ingole Williams Jr.

Survivors include one brother, Dr. Thomas A. Williams of Conroe, Texas; two nephews, Jim Williams of Aztec, NM and Michael Russell of Glen Morgan, and one niece, Gayle Fink of Attica, IN.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29th at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Rodney Jamison officiating. Entombment will follow in the Greenbrier Burial Park Mausoleum, Hinton.

9731 Mrs. Katharine Stauffer, of Walkersville, died Saturday, March 10, 1984 at the Homewood Retirement Center, Frederick Maryland. She was born April 20, 1894 in Walkersville to the late David and Minnie Hedges Cramer. Mrs. Stauffer was the widow of Robert Ward Stauffer, who died April 13, 1975. Katharine's son, John David Stauffer, died July 10, 1996 and her daughter, Nancy Stauffer Anderson, died January 8, 2015. Her youngest grandson, Chris D. Stauffer died August 28, 2002. Katharine is survived by two grand-daughters, 1 grandson and several great-grandchildren. Interment was in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick, Maryland.

9732 Mrs. Katherine Green Dies After Long Illness
Winner of a gallant fight against tuberculosis, only to fall victim to its aftermath of heart disease, Mrs. Katherine E. Green, 31, died Monday in her home, 1163 W. 36th.
Mrs. Green was born in Warren County, Tennessee, but had lived in Indianapolis since childhood.
For a time Mrs. Green was a stenographer for the Indianapolis Life Insurance Co. During World War II she worked as a secretary for the Curtiss-Wright Corp. For two years she had been secretary at Crossroad, rehabilitation center of the Marion County Society for Crippled Children and Adults.
Mrs. Green’s husband, Roy Green, an employee at the Allison Division, General Motors Corp., died eight years ago.
Possessed of great patience and nimble fingers, Mrs. Green worked many hours at home working shell jewelry, fabricating brooches, earrings, necklaces and bracelets of shells formed painstakingly into tiny flower clusters. She sold a few of these but gave most of them to her family and friends.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Conkle West 16th Street Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Survivors are a daughter, Sue Ellen Green, 10; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn W. Elam and a brother, Glenn L. Elam.

Mrs. Kathryn Overstreet Moody, 70, RFD3 Nicholasville, died Sunday, November 19, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lexington, after a long illness.
She was a native of Jessamine County and a daughter of the late W.W. and Edith Caywood Overstreet, widow of Mike Moody, Sr., and a member of the Bethel Community United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jean Ashcraft, Nicholasville; a son, Mike Moody, Jr., Nicholasville; one sister, Mrs. Clark Alexander, Lexington; three grandchildren and one great graddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at the Betts and West Funeral Home by Rev. Archie Barringer.
Burial will be in the Blue Grass Memorial Gardens, in Jessamine County.

She was a daughter of the late Laff and Almara Gilkerson Million. She was a member of Wesleyan Methodist Church.
Survivors include seven sons, William Kirk, Robert Kirk, Kirby Kirk and Benjamin Kirk, all of Lexington; James Kirk and Robert Kirk, Houston, Texas, and Greely Kirk, Knoxville, Tenn.; two daughters, Mrs. Frank Kemble, Lexington, and Mrs. Willard McKenzie, Wilmington, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Rosa Bishop, Lexington, and Mrs. Alma Kirk, Cincinnati; 23 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
The body was taken to the Kerr Brothers Funeral Home.

Bargar of near Meadville, and was reared in that vicinity where she had a host of friends. She was about 30 years of age, and leaves a husband and five little children who have the sympathy of this entire community in which they were well known and highly esteemed. The bereaved husband is a son of Joseph B. Thorne of near Linneus.

Buckley – Mrs. Leah Beland Dorris, 89, died at the Kankakee hospital Tuesday morning. Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph’s church, Loda, at 9:30 a.m. Friday, with Fr. Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Loda.
She was born at Bourbonnais March 8, 1854. She was a resident of Loda and Paxton communities for 49 years. She had lived in Kankakee for six years. Surviving are three sons, Lester Beland, Paxton; Henry Beland, Lake Odess, Mich., and William Beland, Staceyville, Ia., and one daughter, Mrs. John Huston, Melvin.

Mrs. Lela May Callaway, 95, died yesterday morning at 11 o'clock in the Hale residence of her daughter, Mrs. Ray Lyons.

Born Dec. 10, 1872, in the Hale community, she was the daughter of. John Parker and Mary (Wilson) Parker. She was reared in the Hale community.

On Jan. 1, 1900, Lela May Parker married Richard Callaway. He
preceded her in death.

Mrs. Callaway Was a charter member of the Hale Methodist
church.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Lyons of Hale, Mrs. Mary Stephenson of DeWitt, and Mrs. Bonnie Hedges of Horton, Kan.; a son, Ralph Callaway of Hale; eight grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Austin-Lindley Funeral Home in Hale with the Rev. Robert Gant officiating.

Interment will be in the Hurricane Cemetery, south of Hale.

Daughter of Isaac Newton Cassity and Elizabeth (Smith) Cassity. November 18, 1906 she married David C. Pulliam. He died Aug. 4, 1957. Surviving are one daughter Georgia Heckman of Glenwood, Iowa and two sons, Gayle Pulliam of Brookfield and Leroy Pulliam of Los Angeles, California. Burial was on the Rose Hill Cemetery, Brookfield, Missouri.

She had been ill for four years. She had resided for 18 years in Mason County, Ky., before moving to Brown County 12 years ago. Surviving her, besides her husband, are two daughters, Mrs. Thomas Richmond, Ellsberry, Ohio, and Mrs. Emerson Tanner, Chicago; one son, John Hedges, at home, and three brother and three sisters. Services will be conducted Friday at 2 o’clock at Knox funeral home, with burial in Maysville Cemetery.

Whitesburg, Ky., Nov. 7. – Mrs. Letitia Hunt, 39 years old, daughter of R.B. Bentley, County Court Clerk here, died Wednesday at Phoenix, Ariz., after a long illness. Mrs. Hunt was taken to different points in the West in an effort to regain her health. The body will be brought to this county for interment.

Mrs. Hedges was a member of the Country Club Christian Church. She was past president of the Kansas City Young Matrons and the Women's Council of the church. She had been housemother at Phi Kappa Psi and Zeta Beta Tau fraternities at the University of Missouri-Columbia, and at the Women's Dormitory at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She leaves three daughters, Mrs. Sidney H. Gabel, of the home; Mrs. Betty Bramson, 5212 W. 72nd, Prairie Village; and Mrs. Esther H. Anderson, Pullman, Wash.; 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Mount Moriah Chapel; burial in Mount Moriah Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the memorial fund at the Santa Fe Hills Baptist Church.

Surviving her are three children; Mrs. Howard Daily, Mrs. Robert Florian and Charles W. Hedges Jr. Six grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.

9745 Mrs. Lottie H. Wiggins Dies; Rite Tuesday
Mrs. Lottie H. Wiggins, 63, died late Sunday in the Fort Pierce Sanitarium after an illness of several weeks.
She had been a resident of Fort Pierce since 1939 and had been practicing her profession of nursing here, both in the hospital and as a private duty nurse.
She trained at Illinois Training School for Nurses in Chicago and did post-graduate work at the Chicago Lying-In hospital. She was supervisor of nurse at the hospital in Brookfield, Mo., for three years at the Iowa Methodist hospital in Des Moines, at the Aurora, Ill., hospital and at University hospital, Ann Arbor, Mich.
She is survived by her husband, Cornelius, of Fort Pierce; two brothers, S.M. Blackburn of Preston, Mo.; Harrison of Purdin, Mo., several nieces and a nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Yates Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. J.V. Copeland, pastor of the Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will follow in the Fort Pierce Cemetery.
Fort Pierce doctors will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Active pallbearers will be Walter Hibb, Gordon White, Eugene Bradford, Albert Yelton, Oliver Martin and Ernest Chandler.

9746 Mrs. Louisa Hunt
Mrs. Louisa Hunt passed away at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Nippert, at Raceland, Ky., Saturday, April 10th, at 7:30 p.m. after an extended illness, due to infirmities. Her husband, the late Taylor Hunt, of Wash, Ky., died March 15th, 1918.

The following children are left to mourn the passing of a dear mother: C. A. Hunt of Sprataghill, W.Va, Mrs. Dora Roberts of Fullerton. Harry of Fullerton, Ky., Oscar of Portsmouth, O., Mrs. C. E. Fannia of Oak Hill, O., and Mrs. A. C. Nippert of Raceland, Ky.

Two children passed away in infancy. She also leaves one brother, Henry Nippert, of Oak Hill, eighteen grand-children and three great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Mrs. Hunt was born in Monroe County, Ohio, July 29th, 1844, the daughter of Godfery and Saloma Nippert. The family moved to Walsh, Ky. in her girlhood days and the greater part of her life was spent there. She united with the M.E. Church at 12 years of age and lived a consistent Christian life until God in His wisdom saw fit to call her to that home she has strived so hard to win. She was active in church work as long as she was able. She was always happiest when doing something for her Master, and will be missed, not only by her relatives, but by the community in which she lived.

The body will arrive at Fullerton on the morning C. & O. train No.17, taken to the Fullerton M.E. Church where the funeral will be held at 10 a.m.

9747 Mrs. Lrena Wolfe Passed Away in Omaha, Nebraska
Lorena Wolfe, daughter of J.W. and Ella Blackburn, was born November 15, 1884, on a farm north of Brookfield, Missouri, and passed away October 26, 1953, in Omaha, Nebraska, where she had made her home for several years.
She united with the Unity Church early in life.
Her husband, Fred Wolfe, preceded her in death in December of 1948. She leaves to mourn her passing two brothers and a sister, W.H. Blackburn of Purdin, Mo.; S.M. Blackburn of Preston, Mo.; and Mrs. Lottie Wiggins, of Pierce, Florida.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Purdin at 2:30 p.m., October 28, 1953, conducted by Rev. Edward Folchie. The song services were by Mrs. Calvin Lambert, Mrs. Orlando Johnson, Mrs. Orville Cokerham and Mrs. Floyd Hardin, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Marjorie Murrain.
Pallbearers were George Jenkins, Roe Connelly, Joe Edens, Ray Fasher, Floyd Hardin and Frank Murrain.
Interment was made in the Grantsville cemetery near Purdin, under the direction of the Wade Funeral Home.

Mrs. Mineer also is survived by two other daughters and three sons, Mrs. Luther Reynolds, Mrs. Dora Castle and Marvin and Archie Mineer, all of Fleming County, and Otha Mineer, New Richmond, Ohio. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Pleasant Valley Christian Church. Burial will be in the Mineer family cemetery.
