She was born in Danville to Marion and Olive Lancaster Cook.
She married Eugene Smith on Aug. 19, 1956. He survives.
Also surviving are two children, Raymond Smith of Allerton and Debra Beeson of Tuscola; one sister, Carolyn Baker of Jacksonville; a grandson, Alexander Hunter Smith and two stepgrandchildren, Michelle Beeson of Chrisman and Scott Beeson of San Diego, California.

Charlotte Louise Smith, 69, of Allerton, formerly of Chrisman, died at 11:55 a.m. Mon. (April 3, 2006) at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village, Chrisman.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Thursday at Young American Cemetery, Hume, Marvin Smith officiated.
Joines Appleby Funeral Home, 401 W. Gillogly St., Newman, handled arrangements.
Mrs. Smith was born Aug. 20, 1936, in Danville, a daughter of Marion and Olive Lancaster Cook. She married Eugene Smith on Aug. 19, 1956, in Hume. He survives.
Survivors also include a son, Raymond Smith of Allerton; a daughter, Debra Beeson of Tuscola; a sister, Carolyn Baker of Jacksonville; a grandson; and two step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Smith graduated from Georgetown High School in 1954, and attended Eastern Illinois University in Charleston. She lived in Rural Chrisman and farmed with her husband for 45 years.
She was a member of Hume Christian Church and attended Metcalf Christian Church and Allerton United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, gardening and cooking.
She was a member of the Senior Citizen Group of Allerton.
Memorials may be made to Hume Christian Church, Hume; or Allerton United Methodist Church, Allerton.
