Notes - Edith D. Hedges
Newland, N.C. – Mrs. Edith Deitz Hedges, 92, formerly of Crawley, died Monday, Feb. 13, 1995 in Spruce Pine Rest Home, following a long illness.
Born at Keiffer, she was the daughter of the late Theodore H. and Ora Beitz Deitz.
Mrs. Hedges was a member and Sunday School teacher of the Amwell Baptist Church at Rupert and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lacy C. Hedges on Oct. 3, 1993.
Survivors include two daughters, Millicent Carpenter of Newland, N.C. and Mary Ellen Healy of Austin Minn.; a son, James Willard Hedges of Glen Ellen, Ill.; two brothers, Joe Deitz and Witley Deitz, both of Rupert; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leroy Crane officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Amwell Cemetery at Crawley.
