Notes - Rev. E.L. Rutledge was called to Purdin Sunday, to officiate at the funeral of Mrs. Louisa C. Cassity, wife of Wm. Cassity. Her death occurred on the 11th. She was a highly esteemed lady with many relatives and friends. Her age was 72 years, 10 months and 1 day.

Louisa C. Jones a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas C. Jones was born in Grundy county, Missouri on May 10, 1843. She was married to William Cassity on November 4, 1861 and to this union were born ten children two of whom died in infancy. Those surviving are Mrs. Martha H. Garrett, Mrs. Adell Pounds, R.W. Cassity, Mrs. Sarah J. Stone, J.A. Cassity, Mrs. Effa Pulliam, Alpha Cassity and Mrs. Elna Pearson. The deceased had twenty four grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. In early life Mrs. Cassity united with the Methodist church at Wesley Chapel and died in that faith. She had lived in Benton township for 43 years, 5 months and 6 days. Mrs. Cassity had been in poor health for some time but did not seem to be seriously sick until last week when she gradually grew worse and death relieved her of her suffering on Saturday night, March 11 when her spirit was called by her Maker. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Butledge at Purdin Sunday after which her body was laid to rest to await the resurrection morn. Mr. Cassity and children have the sympathy of all in their hours of sadness.
