- Mildred S. Petty
Mildred S. Petty, 80, a native of Denison, Kansas, passed away November 26, 2005, in Eureka, California, where she had been a resident for last 46 years.
She worked as a social worker in Del Norte and Humboldt Counties, retiring after 21 years. In November 1996, she professed her secular Carmelite vows, becoming a lay nun.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Petty, Charlie Petty and wife Carol, and Robert Petty; grandchildren, Jennifer Gingerich and husband Troy, Jeremy Omholt and wife Tai, Jason Petty and wife Mandy, and Richard Clements; six great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Vietta Hedges; husband, Charles I. Petty; four sisters; and three brothers.
The family wishes to thank all those who cared and visited Mildred over the years.
Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service at Chapel of the Ferns Sanders Funeral Home, 1835 E Street, Eureka, California, on Friday, December 2, 2005, at 2:00 pm. The celebrant will be Father Loren Allen.

Arrangements are under the care of Chapel of the Ferns Sanders Funeral Home, Eureka, California.
