Notes - Albert Hawkins, farmer residing about two and one-half miles west of Brookfield on the old Laclede highway, took his own life about 7 o’clock Saturday morning by shooting himself through the head with a shotgun as he sat in his home.
Hawkins, who was past 70 years of age, was said to have been despondent in recent months over bad health.
Rev. M.W. Nilsson, of the Christian Church, conducted services for the departed, at the Methodist Church in Purdin, Sunday afternoon at two o’clock.
