    • Everett E. (Bud) Neely Passed Away July 18, In Kirksville
      Everett E. (Bud) Neely, son of Norman B. and Henrietta (Cassity) Neely, was born near Milan, Missouri March 13, 1880, and died in a Kirksville hospital, July 28, 1964. He had been hospitalized the past nine weeks.
      He was united in marriage to Gracie Clifton in January of 1910. Nine children were born to this marriage.
      Surviving are three sons: Alvin, of Green Castle; Delman,, of Colona, Illinois; and Norman, of Silvis, Illinois; six daughters: Mrs. Roy (Mildred) Casey, Novinger; Mrs. Genave Scoonover, Silvis, Illinois; Mrs. Oma Wren, East Moline, Illinois; Mrs. Robert (Elveta) Dolan, Silvis, Illinois; Mrs. Richard (Helen Baker, East Moline, Illinois; and Mrs. Charles (Imogene) Bell, Novinger; thirty-one grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren, two brothers: Emery N. Neely and Ray Neely, both of Brookfield; six sister, Mrs. Lloyd (Nellie) Owen, Brookfield; Mrs. Addie Gatlin and Mrs. Elfie McCoy, both of Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. Victoria Engleman, Chillicothe; Mrs. Eunice Freeman and Mrs. Edith McCoy both of Maryville, California.
      He was preceded in death by his wife on April 6, 1947, two brothers and two sisters, one grandson and four great grandchildren.
      Mr. Neely moved to Stahl in 1904, where he clerked in a store until 1914, when he was appointed postmaster. He retired as postmaster and as a farmer in 1948. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America Lodge.
      Funeral services were held fFiday, July 31, at the Glenn E. Kent & Son Funeral Chapel in Green City, with the Elder Clyde O. Johnson of Green Castle, officiating. Burial was in the Green Castle cemetery.
