- Rites Sunday for Mrs. Victoria Engelman
She Resided in Chula and Laredo Areas for Years.
Mrs. Victoria Engleman 1209 Monroe street died at 2:30 o’clock this morning at the Chillicothe hospital. She had been in failing health several years and hospitalized two weeks. She was 77.
Mrs. Engleman, a daughter of Norman Newton Neely and Henrietta (Cassity) Neely was born in Browning on Sept. 29, 1892. She was reared in the Browning community and in 1909 married Delbert Engleman.
Mr. and Mrs. Engleman resided 30 years in the Chula and Laredo area where they engaged in farming. Mr. Engleman died in 1955.
Mrs. Engleman was a member of the Chula Baptist church. For the last few years she had made her home with the daughter Mrs. Kathleen Jacobs.
In addition to her daughter she leaves two brothers, Ray Neely, Linneus and Emery Neely Brookfield, five sisters, Mrs. Effie McCoy and Mrs. Addie Gatlin, Kansas City, Mrs. Nellie Owen, San Jose, Calif., and Miss Eunice Freeman and Mrs. Edith McCoy, Maryville, Calif.; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon at the Chula Baptist church. The Rev. Elton Smith, assisted by Rev. Danny Wilford, will officiate. Interment will be in the Plainview cemetery, near Chula.
The body will be in state at the Lindley Funeral Home until 11:30 Sunday morning and will ten be taken to the Chula Baptist Church to lie in state until the hour of the service.
