- Fred W. Armstrong Passed Away In Brookfield, Mo.
Funeral services for Fred W. Armstrong, who died Saturday afternoon at his home, 322 Hunt St., Brookfield, Mo., were conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Kelly at two o’clock, on Tuesday afternoon, February 4, 1958 at the Hill Funeral Home. Burial was made in the Purdin cemetery.
Mr. Armstrong, 78, was a former employee of the Burlington Railroad working with a section crew. He had been retired since 1947.
He was born June 27, 1879, in Varinda, Canada, the son of Thomas and Jean Armstrong. On September 21, 1921, he was united in marriage to Clara Cassity. To this union was born five daughters.
Mr. Armstrong is survived by his wife of the home and five daughters, Mrs. Charles (Frances) Simpson, Chicago, Ill; Mrs. Howard (Irene) Walsh, St. Joseph, Mo.; Mrs. William (Dorothy) Miller, Brookfield, Mo.; Mrs. Alvin (Mary) Schreckhise, Brookfield; Mrs. Edward (Betty) Stanfield, Brookfield, five grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Armstrong was a member of Pleasant Grove Evangelical United Brethren Church near Shelby.
