Notes - MHR note: James Andrew Cassity was called "Boss" Cassity. He was a 7 month baby and so delicate for awhile that everyone flew to wait on him, hence the nickname which stuck.
[4] - James Andrew Cassity, 70 years old, died at his home at the Avalon Apartments at 4:45 o’clock Friday morning, after an illness of five years.
Mr. Cassity was born near Purdin. He came to Mexico from Topeka, Kans., where he was a railroad insurance writer for the Continental Casualty Company of Chicago. He had been a resident of Mexico for the past five years.
Short services were held for James A. Cassity who died at his home, 203 West Love street, Friday morning, at the McPheeter Chapel Sunday morning at 9 a.m. The Rev. George A. Hammon, pastor of the First Baptist church of Mexico, officiating and music was furnished by Mrs. George Hammon and Mrs. John Felgar.
On Sunday afternoon, funeral services were held at Purdin and burial was in the family lot in the cemetery there. Service were conducted by the pastor of the First Baptist church of Linneus. Nephews of the deceased acted as pallbearers.
