George Allen, Former Sheriff of Rowan County, Succumbs to Blood Poison Resulting From Accident.
The body of George Allen, former sheriff of Rowan county, was sent from this city to Morehead on the 11:10 o’clock Chesapeake & Ohio train Friday morning, he having died at the Good Samaritan Hospital Friday morning at 3 o’clock.
Allen was injured in a runaway accident in this city Thanksgiving day. After being taken to the hospital it was found that his leg had been badly fractured. Blood poison later developed, which resulted in his not unexpected death Friday morning. He is survived by a wife and five children and his two brothers, who were with him at the time of his death.
