      Joseph B. Thorne was born in Kentucky, October 30, 1846. When he was four years of age he came with his parents to Linn County. He has always lived on a farm and now owns a splendid farm of three hundred and eighty acres. He was married in Linn County, Missouri, November 13, 1873, to Miss Lucy B. Sutherland, a native of Missouri. They have a family of three children: Mary, born September 13, 1874; Joseph T., born August 22, 1977; William W. born March 6, 1860. [4]
