    • Ruby Etoile Brown, 92, passed away Aug. 6, 2018, following the death of her son, Randy, 4 months earlier. Ruby was born in Bounds, MS and raised in Big Creek, MS, where she married her childhood sweetheart, Radford Brown before he enlisted in the Marine Corp to serve in WWII. She graduated from Business School in her home town, then worked in Washington, DC in a typing pool throughout the war.
After living in North Carolina and Iowa, Ruby and Rad moved their family back to Jacksonville where they were active members of HAB Church since 1956. Radford passed away in 1978.
Ruby worked at Memorial Hospital for 27 years as Insurance Supervisor and then as Financial Counselor until she retired at age 69. She enjoyed her retirement with family, friends, church, bridge, travel, her cabin in North Carolina and football.
Ruby will be remembered as a loving, devoted, inspirational and sweet wife, mother, grandmother and friend, who always showed strength of character and her strong Christian faith. She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia, Deborah and Judith, 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A private family memorial was held at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Big Creek on Sat., Sept. 8, 208. Pryor Funeral Home had charge of all arrangements.
Our mother, Ruby, father, Radford and brother, Randy, are now buried at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Big Creek. MS.
