Notes - Richard G. Mattix, 70, went to be with his Lord on February 23, 2014. He was born Aug. 14, 1943 to Beverly and Charlene Mattix in El Dorado, Kansas. He made an impact on all he came across that was immeasurable for words. He went to St. John's Military Academy, performed with the military Crack Squad, and served on the Army National Guard Honor Guard, and attended Olivet Baptist Church. He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Sandy; will be remembered by his daughter, Shonn Tew; son-in- law, Dave Tew; grandchildren Haley and Jack; and brother Gary Mattix. Funeral services 11am, Friday, Feb. 28 at Charter Funerals, 10250 Shawnee Mission Pkwy, burial at Sunset Lawns Cemetery in El Dorado, KS. Visitation 5-7pm Thursday evening.
