- Mrs. J.S. Gill
Mrs. J.S. Gill, who has lingered at death's door for some three or four weeks, finally yielded to the claims of the dread messenger, her death occurring at 10:15 o'clock Monday, March 6th, at their home in this city. The funeral services, conducted by Rev. Sleeth, took place at the home at 2 o'clock the following day, and the remains laid to rest in the Lyndon cemetery.
Mrs. Gill was a native of Indiana. She was born November 5, 1867, in Wells county, where she, Emma J. Furgeson, was married to James Stewart Gill of this place, February 27, 1889, since which time she has been a most respected resident of this community. Four children resulted from this union, two sons and two daughters, the sons preceding her in death, the last by little more than a week.
She seemed to enjoy good health until a few months ago, when she began to decline, her difficulties developing later into a form of comsumption.
Her husband and two little girls, whose loss and grief seems greatest, have the fullest sympathy of the people of the community.
The Lyndon Record, Lyndon, Kansas. Thursday, 10 March 1898.
