Edwin Tyler Hammond, 87, of 30385 Highway 17, died April 29, 2002 at Salem Nursing and Rehab Center. Graveside services will be held in Bethel Cemetery, today at 11 a.m. Rev. David R. Lemoine, Jr. will officiate. Skelton Funeral Home is directing.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mable Lee Hammond.
Survivors include his son, Wade H. Hammond of Reform, Ala.; sister-in-law, Agnes Hammond; and nephew, Billy Hammond.
Mr. Hammond was born September 7, 1914 in Bessemer, Alabama to Pat Hammond and Emma Curry Hammond. He was a retired farmer, a World War II Veteran serving with the Corp. of Engineers and a well known resident of the Reform area.
Pallbearers will be David Jennings, Bill Fullerton, J.T. Simpson, Ken Simpson, Murry Perrigin and Kent Simpson.
