- Purdin Enterprise: On Tuesday last William Southerland passed his 90th year. He is a man well preserved for one of his age, being able to walk to town when the weather permits. The children all gathered at the family home south of town in remembrance of his birthday. He is one of the pioneer residents of this part of Linn county and has a host of friends, who wish that he may enjoy many more like occasions.
