- Son of John Hunt Sr, and Mary Overall, Married Nancy Denton 1786 Washington Co., Tennessee.
He was originally buried in the Buck Creek Cemetery, also referred to as the Hunt Cemetery in Menifee County, KY. The graves in that cemetery were moved to the Ginter Cemetery in preparation for construction of the Cave Run Dam and reservoir. [1]
- Most trees have Reuben Hunt, Sr.'s date of death as 1825, because his 1822 will was not submitted to probate until early in 1826.
However, there are two pieces of evidence that Reuben Hunt, Sr. died about 1823.
1) Reuben Hunt, Sr. last appeared on the 1823 Bath Co., KY tax list in 1823 (for taxes due from 1822). His wife, Nancy, took his place on the tax list in 1824. Women only appeared on the tax lists when their husbands had died. 2) He was listed as deceased and his heirs (Jeremiah, Esther, Rebecca, Reuben, Ezekiel, Samuel, Mary, Phoebe, Nancy, Joseph, and William Spencer Hunt) were listed on an 1824 Fleming Co., KY Deed.
