      September 11, 1918 - February 21, 2017
      Ralph K. McClanahan, of Williamstown, was born in Grant County, Kentucky on September 11, 1918 and passed away at the St. Joseph Hospice in Lexington, Kentucky on February 21, 2017 at the age of 98. He was the son of the late Lemuel Riley and Mary Elizabeth Jones McClanahan.

      Ralph's first wife, the former Dorothy Elizabeth Brown, passed away February 24, 1982. He later married Emogene Latimer (Jenkins) McClanahan. In addition to his loving wife, Mr. McClanahan is survived by sons: Jim (Janet) McClanahan of Georgetown and Ken (Brenda) McClanahan of Lexington; daughters: Judy (Jim) Connor of Hershey, PA and Rita (Mike) Tew of Garner NC; stepson: Bill (Lucy) Jenkins of Lexington; sisters: Stella Martin of Williamstown and Betty McClanahan of Williamstown; grandchildren: April Lynn McClanahan Willhoite Cooper, Jeffrey Wayne McClanahan, Jennifer Connor Collins, Jonathan James Connor and Mary Elizabeth Tew; great grandchildren: Makayla Faith Willhoite, Robert Terry Scott Willhoite III, Lillian Grace Cooper, Sydney Grace McClanahan, Jeffrey Jameson McClanahan, Luke Asher McClanahan, Teagon Rylie Collins, Grant Ryan Collins and Britton James Connor.

      Mr. McClanahan was preceded in death by brothers: Irvin McClanahan, Clay McClanahan, Floyd McClanahan, Dawson McClanahan and Charlie McClanahan and sisters: Goldie Tebelman and Naomi Mae Colcord.

      A United States Navy WWII Veteran, Ralph was a lifelong farmer and was formerly the custodian at the Williamstown Post Office for many years. He remained a member of the Fairview Christian Church.

      Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 26, 2017 at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5:00 - 9:00 PM, Saturday. Burial will follow in the Williamstown Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fairview Christian Church.
