- Ralph E. Lytle
Ralph E. Lytle, 89, died Tuesday, May 13, 2003, at Carmel Care Center. He was a resident of Carmel and a former resident of Indianapolis.
He was born July 25, 1913, in Kansas City, Mo. His parents were Frank C. and Olivette T. (Cayon) Lytle. He married Martha E. (Hedges) Lytyle. She preceded him in death May 20, 1987. He then married Hattie B. (Wilson) Heltsley Lytle. She preceded him in death Jan. 14, 1997. Survivors include a son, Charles E. Lytle of Omaha, Neb.; a daughter, Shirley Trotter of Rockville; two stepdaughters, Betty Bodenhamer and Peggy Ranck, both of Indianapolis; a grandson, several step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Howard C. Lytle.
He was employed by Eli Lilly and Co. as a glandular department supervisor for 36 years, retiring in 1972.
He was a member of American Legion Post 4 for 57years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater, where he received four Bronze Stars.
The Rev. Melinda Huffman will conduct a service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center in Indianapolis. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. Entombment will be at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
