Entered into rest on Thursday, July 3, 2008, Mr. William H. Reed, beloved husband of 57 years to Mrs. Lorena Cottle Reed, of Willow Spring Drive, North Augusta, S.C.
Surviving with his wife are two sister-in-laws, Gladys Copen, North Augusta, S.C. and Jane Wallace (Charles), Chester, Virginia and several nephews and nieces.
Mr. Reed was born in Richmond, West Virginia and he moved from Orlando, Fla. to North Augusta three years ago. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He was a retired engineer with Martin Marietta with over thirty years of service. He was a member of Midland Valley First Church of the Nazarene and while living in Orlando, Mr. Reed served in various church offices and on many committees. He was a small craft pilot and he enjoyed traveling, golf, boating and fishing.
Funeral services will be on Monday at 11 a.m. in the Hatcher Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Brent Van Hook and Rev. Charles Wallace officiating. Interment will be on Tuesday in the Chapel Hill Cemetery, Orlando, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Midland Valley First Church of the Nazarene's Children's Ministry.
