- Clarence Hunt, 88, retired carman.
Mr. Clarence E. "Dude" Hunt, 88, of South Shore, Ky., died Wednesday, Feb 7, 1996, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky.
He was born Feb. 5, 1908, in Walsh, Ky., a son of the late Larry Hunt and Nellie Harr Hunt. He was retired from the Norfolk and Southern Railroad after 37 years of service as a carman. Also, he was a retired farmer and member of Transportation-Communication International Union.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys Slater Hunt of South Shore, whom he married Dec.12, 1931. Also surviving him are a daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Rase of South Shore, and a grand-daughter, Miss Susan Rase of South Shore; a niece to whom he helped to rear, Mrs. Julinia Roirds of South Shore; three brothers, Mr. Morris "Bud" Hunt, Mr. Raymond Hunt and Mr. Carl Hunt, all of South Shore; and one sister, Mrs. Mabel Bosley of South Shore.
Preceded in death by one brother, Richard Hunt, and three sisters, Lucille Miller, Sarah and Rebecca Hunt; and his son-in-law, Mr. Donald Rase.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, with burial in Mount Zion Cemetery, with the Rev. Steven Bowling and the Rev. Harley Johnson officiating at the service.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until the services Saturday.
