Mishawaka -- Barbara Swain, 90, of Medco Center, formerly of 100 Center Hi-Rise Apartments, died at 9:45 p.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend. Mrs. Swain was born Jan. 22, 1903, in Rochester and lived in this area since 1946, coming from Rochester.
On July 3, 1940, in South Bend, as Barbara Daulton, she married Charles Swain. He died in 1968. Surviving are a sister, Thelma Vigus of Gardena, Calif.; and a brother Wayne Daulton of Rochester. She was a member of St. Bavo's Catholic Church.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the church. Cremation will take place. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday in Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, where a wake will be at 5:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
