      Jeremiah Thomas "Tom" Crouch, 86, of DeKalb, Illinois, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 30, 2014, at home.

      Born January 7, 1928, in Bluford, Illinois, the son of Charles and Blanch (Orrick) Crouch, Tom married Mary L. Shields on June 9, 1957 in DeKalb. Tom was a Veteran of the US Army Air Corps serving during WWII. Tom was a heavy equipment operator and was a member of the Operating Engineers Union 150; he enjoyed lawn care, gardening, and traveling. Tom was an avid sports fan especially for the Chicago sports teams.

      He is survived by his wife, Mary; son, Richard Crouch of DeKalb; daughters, Karen (Dennis) Pepe' of Katy, Texas, Dawn (Jeffrey) Harris of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Brandon Crouch, Adrianna Pepe'; step grandchildren; Charles and Lacey Vanderbilt; his twin brother, William Crouch of Sycamore; three sisters, Eleanor Gregory, Mary Border, Ruthann Deleaney; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

      He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Melville, Charles, Kenneth; five sisters, Hattie Rapp, Ada Jackson, Dorothy Finn, Elfreda Ellis, Marcella Parks; three brothers, John and Glenn Crouch, Eugene Weaver; and sister, Wintress Sheilds.

      Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, November 6, at Anderson Funeral Home, DeKalb, with the Rev. Dean Pierce of the DeKalb Wesleyan Church officiating, with full military honors by DeKalb American Legion, AmVets and VFW Honor Guard. Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date at Fairview Park Cemetery, DeKalb. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, November 6, at Anderson Funeral Home, DeKalb.

      In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Jeremiah Thomas "Tom" Crouch Memorial Fund, sent to the Crouch Family in care of Anderson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 605, 2011 South Fourth Street, DeKalb, IL 60115.
