Notes - CARLISLE - Leonard E. Gilkison, 86, of Carlisle, widower of Jane Springate Gilkison, passed away Sunday at his home. A native of Versailles, he was born March 17, 1926, to the late Ambrose D. and Odell Littrell Gilkison. He was a retired farmer, attended the Carlisle Christian Church, and member of the South Elkhorn Baptist Church. Survived by three sons, Leonard "Eddie" (Kathleen) Gilkison, Jr., of Clark County, Philip A. (Jadene) Gilkison of London, KY, and Kevin J. Gilkison, of Lexington, one daughter, Suzanne Gilkison of McKee, KY, one sister, Clarice Tincher of Lexington, grandchildren: Alisha Gilkison Rupp, Jacob, Clara, Christine, Caroline, Brennan Gilkison, Serena, Leland, Rivers, Curry, Christen Gilkison, Kasey Gilkison Moore, Collin, Cooper, Ellory, Kerrigan, and Collin Gilkison. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert Gilkison and A. Donald Gilkison and two sisters, Catherine Adams and Edith Million. Memorial services will be Saturday at 2pm at the Carlisle Christian Church, 242 Locust St., Carlisle, KY, with Bro. Steven Smith officiating. Contributions may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Dr., Lexington, KY, 40504 or to the Carlisle Christian Church, 242 Locust St., Carlisle, KY 40311. In care of arrangements is the Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home, 289 S. Main St., Winchester, KY.
