- Virginia Alice Miller, 80, widow of Clay C. Miller, Sr., passed away Friday, March 28, 2014 at the University of Kentucky Hospital.
Born May 21, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Iva Million Maddox.
Virginia was a faithful member of the Dalesburg Wesleyan Church to which she dearly loved. She was young at heart and loved to play with her grandchildren to whom she taught to jump rope. She even rode rode a moped up into her 70's. Virginia loved to sew and she made a lot of her own clothes. Virginia loved her family very much but most of all, she loved the Lord.
She is survived by: seven children, Linda S. Ross, Connie (Ronnie) Reeder, Clay C. (Joyce) Miller, Jr., Elizabeth "Betty" Ruth McRoberts, Audrey Joyce (Tony) Rucker, Jeffery Douglas (Linda) Miller, and Daryl (Sherry) Miller, all of Flemingsburg; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Audrey (Frank) Mitchell of Pennsylvania, and Bernice (Lowell) Tackett of Flemingsburg two brothers, Bob (Caroline) Maddox of Fleming County, and Doug (Nora) Maddox of Arizona; a son-in-law, Robert Newman of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Kathy Dennis and Pamela Newman; a granddaughter, Tabitha Himes; and ten brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home (formerly known as Denton-Workman Funeral Home). Rev. Aaron Riley officiated and interment was in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Pallbearers were her grandsons. Honorary pallbearer was Timothy Scheffier.
