Robert T. Spaulding
Robert T. Spaulding, 83, died Thursday, May 16, 2002, at St. Francis Hospital & Health Centers in Beech Grove. He was a resident of Mooresville.
He was born Nov. 3, 1918, in Indianapolis. His parents were Cyrus and Minnie (Sterrett) Spaulding. He married Jeanne E. (Edwards) Spaulding on March 19, 1937, in Indianapolis. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Wallace Spaulding of Mooresville and Phillip Spaulding of Plainfield; four daughters, Jeanne Spaulding of Mooresville, Suellen Jones of Marco, Rebecca Shannon of Coatesville and Karen Patterson of Indianapolis; 22 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Minnie Marie Terry and Bessie Hammonds.
He was employed by FMC Link Belt as a precision grinder for 39 years, retiring in 1980.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1111 in Mooresville.
The Rev. Shan Rutherford will conduct a service at 1 p.m. Monday at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center in Indianapolis. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis. [3, 4]
