George W. Ribelin died Saturday morning in Jacksonville. The body was brought to Decatur and taken to the undertaking rooms of Brintlinger & Sons where it will remain until the hour of the funeral, 2:30 oclock Monday afternoon, in First Christian church of which he had long been a member.
George Ribelin was born Oct. 29, 1834 and was married to Elizabeth Turley,Nov 13,1856. Her death occurred eight years ago. He leaves two children,Mrs.Ella Pope and Mrs.Sarah Nicholls of Decatur, also his sister, Mrs. Margaret Evans, aged 94 years of Moweaqua.
For many years Mr. Ribelin was engaged in farming near Blue Mound, later going to that village where he conducted a grocery store. He retired from Active business about 35 years ago and came to Decatur to make his home. He was a member of Macon Lodge No 8, A. F. & A. M. he was made a mason in Moweaqua more than 30 years ago.

- Observe 58th Anniversary.
Mr. and Mrs. George W. Ribelin, 914 West View street, passed the 58th anniversary of their marriage, Friday. They were married in Kentucky but have lived in Decatur for the last 20 years. Mr. Ribelin is 80 years old and Mrs. Ribelin is 73. They are both in excellent health. Mr. Ribelin was at one time engaged in the dairy business here but has quit most of his work now.
