Notes - Mrs. John C. Newton
Economy – Gertrude F. Newton, 78, died unexpectedly Friday night at the Henry County Memorial Hospital in New Castle where she had been a patient one day.
She was a native of Morehead, Ky., and had resided in Muncie before moving to Economy 40 years ago. She was a member of the Christian Church in Morehead, Ky.
Survivors include her husband John C.; her sister, Mrs. Myrtie Estep of Morehead, Ky.; two brothers, Russell Gilkison of Morehead, and Thadeus Gilkison of Armstrong, Ill., and several nieces and nephews.
Services for Mrs. Newton will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Culbertson-Reynard Funeral Home in Modoc. Rev. Albert Oren will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery near Losantvile. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
